Where to Find Cute & Reasonably Priced Nursing Pajamas?

I'm looking for comfortable and cute (since we will be having many visitors) nursing pajamas for my hospital stay after our baby is born. Something with a robe or matching cardigan type jacket would be ideal so that I can keep covered and decent for visitors. I have found sets I absolutely love, but they range in price from $75-$125 and I just don't think I should spend that. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great tips! I did find a really cute pair from Motherwear's Outlet on Ebay for only $12! I'll continue to look around at all the other places suggested, thanks for the help!

MotherHood Maternity is an awesome store! I got two pairs there and they came with matching onsies for my little one.
They were cute, comfy and very affordable.

I found some very cute items on Ebay from momplusbaby. The item vendor is Belabumbum and the gowns, pj's and bras were so pretty and I thought all reasonably priced from $25-50. Ann, the owner of Mom Plus Baby was very helpful as well. I decided that this time I wasn't going to have ugly pj's either! You should look this up on EBAY. Think you won't be disapponted. I love mine!

my mother got some for me at Kohls. Granted this was a few years ago, but they were reasonably priced, plus if you go on Wednesdays that is when they usually have some really good sales(at least the one here in Keller does).

I found nursing pj's annoying personally. I would go get some nursing tank tops at target or walmart then pick up some cute pj pants to match. You can probably find a robe to match the pants too. Good luck and congrats!

Motherhood Maternity - sales would probably be the best way to get the cost down.

Have you checked Motherhood Maternity? I found some online when I was looking for $20 on clearance, and I found some in the store for $40. Just be careful they have a real strict return policy. Kid to Kid also sells maternity clothes.

I honestly never got out of my hospital gown after I had either of my boys! Maybe some people do, but there is just too much mess and the nurses have to keep coming in to check you... I just don't think that it is worth spending money on nice pjs that will probably just end up getting messy.
Just my 2 cents :)

Try a consignment store- There is one near the Wal-Mart grocery store in Lewisville. I think it is called Kid to Kid.
Also, look on Craigslist or Ebay.
It may take some time, but you will probably find something.
Also, I used a nursing cami from Target. It was not super flattering, but it did the job.
Hotslings.com has a much more flattering cami.

I am with Amanda..with all 5 kids I stayed in the hospital gown. You could do a robe that would keep you covered if you feel more comfortable, but, you really need to be "accessible" for the nurses. They check you often, and go with you to the bathroom at first to assist (as you are often still weak from the epidural) so the gowns were just the easiest. And, truthfully, you dont have to worry about ruining them. There is quite a bit of bleeding still after the baby is born so I would save the cute pj's for at home. And honestly, I would invest in more loungewear type things. Something that if company stopped by, you would not feel like you still had on your pj's, but with a good elastic band for comfort. Not sure if anyone has told you this, but you will still look about 4-5 months pregnant for at least a week afterward, so maybe grab a size bigger than usual. (If you are lucky, that will go for your top too, as filling up with milk makes for some pretty ample breasts:) OK, enough unsolicited advice. Good luck making it through the last month of your pregnancy..I hope all goes wonderfully!! ~A.~

I've found cute sets at Sears in the past. Their maternity stuff is made by Motherhood just labeled different. My favorite was a nursing tank with matching pants and coverup. I didn't like the ones with slits in the front though ... it felt like I was going to flash someone. Also, you do bleed a lot after having a baby, but it always made me feel better to wear real clothes. I didn't know I could with the first one, but the second two I did and I never messed anything up. Do whatever makes you happy. Congrats!

In my opinion nursing pajamas are way too overrated and expensive! I use nursing tanks from Target every nite as pjs and sometimes as a bra. I had expensive ones with my first one and they were way too hot and don't hold the nursing pads esp when sleeping. Take your $100 to target and buy some tanks and drawstring pants or shorts and a cute t shirt to go over it for when you have visitors! Trust me. :) good luck!!

Target has great nursing tanks/cami's. I'd get a couple of those and two piece PJ sets - with a button up top. I switched out of the hospital gown as soon as they would let me - it just wasn't comfortable for me. Just but a size larger in the PJ's - or get something you could fit in now. Congratulations!!!

Birth is messy. I say wear the hospital gown. Baylor had a cute pink one with silts in the front for nursing. It was very covering, more of a wrap around, than an open down the backside! I just wore a zip up robe in the hospital halls.
Babies-r-us sells nursing P.J.'s when you are ready.

Our Babies-r-us carries the Motherhood Maternity line, and they had cute pajama sets with robes for around $40 when I delivered in January. They had several of options. Any Motherhood Maternity store in a mall will also have a good selection. Good luck!

I have seen some cute nursing PJ's at Burlington Coat Factory in S. Arlington. They were all less than $20. But remember Burlington is kinda hit-or-miss. Hope you find something you like!

If you have the time to shop check at Ross and TJMaxx. I found my sets there but you have to have the time to search the racks for the deals.

I see this is your first baby. I don't know how you're having her -- vaginal or c-section. I can't talk for the c-section people out there, but I have had two vaginal births. And with both, I would not dare wear anything of my own. You bleed too heavy the first couple of days... you don't want to mess up anything of your own, trust me! And the nurses will be coming in and pressing on your tummy and checking to see how much blood you loose when they press ... trust me, it's nothing pretty. I would just wear the hospital gowns ... they aren't stylish, but they get the job done! Good luck and congrats!

I found mine at Destination Maternity. I bought two sets, one dress with a robe and one pants set with a super comfy nursing top. I spent probably $75 total for the two, and I really feel it was totally worth it. I still am wearing them constantly a year later.

Well, if I were in your situation, I would just look for two pieced pajamas with buttons in the front. Make sure you have a cute or coordinating receiving blanket and you should be good to go. Try TJ Maxx and Marshalls for the pjs/robe and you may find something more budget friendly. My kids are far from nursing age but found with my second, nursing specific attire was not manditory. Having a separate top made a huge difference. A top that buttoned from top to the bottom of the garment was an added bonus.

Motherhood Maternity is the absolute BEST place to buy maternity clothes! I have gotten several sets of nursing pj's from there before that were very comfty and cute and only cost between $20 - $30. But I would suggest going into your nearest store instead of ordering online, just to make sure thigs fit. Good luck shopping!

I second the advice on checking ebay.... and just a tip- I'd buy a set of big comfy granny panties and heavy duty pads to bring with you and have once your home both. I hated wearing the mesh things the hospital provides and didn't want to mess up my nice undies. Embarrasing thing to send hubby for later!
