Hanna Andersson. They have great cotton pajamas. Google them--you have at least one in Seattle at University Village and an outlet store in Woodinville (but I'd call first for size/styles).
We love their pjs and they last forever.
DD has a sleepover tomorrow and could really use a pair of new PJ's - I was hoping to pick some up today, without much luck. Do kids not wear PJ's any more?
I checked Target and old Navy already. The Lady at ON told me they did no longer carry kids' PJ's in sizes larger than toddler because they wear sweats to bed now... well, not in my House! Target only has the polyester kind - that's a no go as well.
Any ideas where I can pick up just a simple, longsleeved pair of cotton PJ's today?
Thanks!
Thanks Heidi... but there isn't a Walmart in a reasonable distance from us!
Thanks everyone! I ended up driving by OshKosh, saw they had a 50% off sale and we got a cute pair of PJ's! I got her last pair at Costco - but going there is always a bit of a hit and miss, sometimes they have them, sometimes they don't or not in her size.
By the way... this really reminded me of sticking to CHILDREN'S store's for kids clothes. Ever since she has grown out of toddler sizes I have been very dissapointed by 95% of the clothes offered for young girls at stores like Target, Old Navy and such... I mean I really don't need to put clothes on my 5 year old that are barely appropriate for a teen... I will need to stick to sales at Oshkosh, Hannah and the like from now on...

What is that Old Navy lady thinking? How weird. We have found cotton pj's at Costco, Children's Place, Gymboree, Crazy 8's and the Hanna Anderson outlet. Some of the dept. stores only seem to carry the polyester kind.
Check a Costco .they have the best cotton pj...
Check K-Mart, I always find cotton pj's there. I usually find nightgowns and/or pants/shorts. The Joe Boxer brand usually has cotton and they fit well. You can also try Sears or JC Penney’s.
We love the pajamas we get online from Hanna Andersson's.
Their cotton is the softest I have ever found - they wash up great and last a long time.
When you have more time, check out their web site.

Childrens Place!
For what it's worth, Target, Old Navy, Walmart and JC Penney near me only have polyester pajamas. Costco and Sams Club have adorable toddler PJs but only polyester ones for older kids.
So Childrens Place is my go-to for cotton. The PJs are cute, we just picked up some ones this weekend with aliens on them, another pair with dinosaurs, a pink pair with leopard print pants, and a blue pair with cupcakes on the top.
I get DS's at Old Navy - size 10. They have both the tight clingy type and the pants with long sleeve t style. And that's at both ON's by me. I'd ask to talk to a manager. Also check out Children's Place, Pennys, Sears, or Wal Mart, Kmart... call around first before running around.
I hear you about not sleeping in sweat pants - WAY too warm. Not healthy. And they don't breathe! I'd rather go boxer shorts/tshirt before I went sweat pants. The reason so many PJ's are poly are because of old flame retardent regulations. But I once saw an example of what happens when flame retardent materials meet flame... they MELT, right on the skin. OMG. HORRIBLE.
Cotton is hard to find. My friend's daughter wears only 100% cotton due to eczema problems and she gets hers at Gymboree.
She's a very small first grader, so they should have ones to fit your daughter.
Disney Store, I've bought them in-store and online in sizes at least up to size 10.
JC Penny's by us has pjs. Just bought a pair for my 11 year old. Pants and a top. I do not like Old Navy anymore. Gamboree has some as well I believe
That's too bad about Walmart not being close. Ours had rack after rack.
If they say all the kids wear sweats and there aren't any then he's going to feel very uncomfortable in PJ's instead of sweats. I'd let him dress like the other kids. If there was a Walmart in your town I would expect a bunch of them to be wearing them. But since they all shop where you shop that's what they'll be buying.
We love Lands End cotton PJ's ... they last forever. They have a section in Sears.
We have bought from Carter's and the Disney Store. Check a department store possibly.
Check walmart. I know that's where the ones that my son got for christmas came from and he loves that.
ADD: Well that stinks!!!!! I would try JC Pennys if there is one near by. Good luck!!!
Osh Kosh B'Gosh - 100% cotton, lots of adorable (and age appropriate) designs. Sweat pants?!! My kids would overheat for sure!
Good luck!
Hanna Andersson. I think there is a store or outlet in the Seattle area.
Kohl's. They have Carters and Disney, both of which we love. Good luck, hope she has a fun sleep over!
If you have a Kohls they carry pj's for older kids. I just bought some the other day!
Gymboree, Sears, Lands End, Target
I get my kids' pjs at Costco. I'm not much for shopping around and Target usually has only polyester ones. Good luck!
