I am a little new to the area and wanted to know where the best deals were for buying groceries. Are there any outlet stores around the area?

What can I do next?

Hi My name is Tammy.
I wait to get my ads for all the different grocery stores every week. Then get the best price on what you need. Then go to Wal-Mart. They will price match anything. If someone else has it cheaper they will match the price. Depending on which wal mart you go to will determine if you need the ad with you or not.

I have found that I save about $50.00 a week doing this alone. Last week Smiths had milk on sale for $.99 a gallon and walmart matched it right there at the register. just tell the cashier who has it at what price and she/he can punch the price in right then and there.

This saves me from running all around town to get the best deals.

hope this helps you.

Honestly, Wal-Mart is probably the cheapest. Target is okay, but I find their meat prices pretty high.

If you are looking for a bulk-foods type place (like Costco), there is a Sam's Club in Layton. You have to buy a membership, but you can get pretty good deals on bulk stuff.

If you go to pinchingyourpennies.com, then click on Grocery Guide, scroll down to where it says you can get a shopping list from local grocery stores. Click on that, then choose any of the stores on the list and they will give you a complete list of what is on their ad that week and a rating as to how good of a deal it is. I use this all the time. Good luck shopping!

I'm similarly frustrated. I alternate between WalMart and Target but would really like to find a good local grocery, with fresh vegetables and variety. The super centers have decent prices and pretty much the same brands but nothing special, I have found some bread stores where there is some variety and some things I have just given up on finding and replaced with other locally availabe things, giving up on exotic in favor of commonly available is not my favorite thing!

Maybe someone else will have found a really good store or two

My husband and I have been avid Wal-Mart shopers since my 19monh old was born. They still have the best prices on dog food but that's about it. We find that Rite Aid (I do believe it is on 26th street) usually has good sales on diapers. Stop and shop has the best deal on every day groceries. And Albertsons often has 10 for $10 deals (Watch the Sunday paper)this is when we do the bulk shoping for cereal and things like that. Also if you join Smith's baby club(although you kids may be too old) when you buy baby products you recieve points once you reach 200 you get a $100 shoping card. We were reaching 200 points in about 2 months or so.
I hope this helps. It's kind of a pain going to so many places but they are fairly close together so you aren't wasting much gas.

A little about me:
I am a full time mom of a 19-month-old, wife of what seems to be a 150 lb 2-year-old, dedicated employee, oldest daughter, oldes sister, and live rite smak dab in the middle of 3 sets of grandparents.
