Where Do I Send a Letter to Santa?

Hi Moms -- happy holidays to everyone! And since it is the holidays, I have a very important question that might make you smile... My three-year-old daughter has written (okay, dictated) her first letter to Santa, and I would like to mail it today. I don't need her to get a letter back from Santa (I've found the instructions for that at the usps.com website) as I've missed the deadline, and obviously I know it most likely won't get to the man himself (ha ha), but I'd like to avoid having this come back to us in the mail! When I was a kid, I'd always just write "Santa, North Pole, Alaska" on the envelope. Should I just do this? What do you think? Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the recommendations; very helpful! I decided to take the very first suggestion and hang on to the letter until later years. She will certainly get a kick out of it -- especially since she kept adding stuff to it up until the very night before Christmas! I'll definitely use the 100 Candy Cane Lane address next year. Thanks everyone, and I hope you have a wonderful new year.

Saw a cute idea on another site. Address the envelope however you choose and put it in the mailbox. Have an address label made out to your mom or a neighbor or someone convenient ready. Go out to "check the mail" early that day when you know the letter is still there and sneak the address label onto the envelope. That way you can actually have the person save the letter for you as a keepsake.

If she's not expecting anything back, then keep it somewhere safe and give it to her when she's older. She'll probably love looking back and reading it.

I did the same with a letter to the Easter Bunny last year.

Send it to grandmas house, they way she can drop it in the mail box and since shes 3 you can pretend by saying out loud santa, north pole etc... but you can write grandmas address instead.

My daughter, who is 11, is still completely convinced that there is a Santa Clause! I know that most of you even would not believe it, but if you could hear her talk about him, you would know what I mean. She is very grown up about everything, but believes... She sends her letter to an address that she found in the newspaper once, I think it is: Santa Claus, 100 Candy Cane Lane, North Pole. She received a letter back last year! We'll see about this year!
Have fun, and enjoy your holiday with your family!
