You might try selling them at the Divine Consign sale. I think the website is www.divineconsign.net. You have to prepare everything for the sale, but you set the prices.
I alot of name brand baby boy stuff I would like to get best price for at a resale store somewhere and wondered where other moms have found that they give a decent price for this kind of stuff.
Is kid to kid good or a rip off?
Thanks so much!!

I have heard of a web site where you can swap your baby things for things you need. It is www.swapbabygoods.com. I have never used the site, but I have heard of Mom's that have used the site and like it.
Personally, I'd rather take them to one of the many consignment sales that come through the DFW area than take them to a consignment STORE like Once Upon a Child (that pays you cents on the dollar). Check for Divine Consign (divineconsign.net), Tots to Teens (mytots2teens.com) or ...there's one more but I can't for the life of me think of what the name of it is -- I believe it comes to the Grapevine Convention Center two times a year. Another came to a church in North Richland Hills two times a year... (summer/fall)
There is also the semi annual Just Between Friends sale. I am pretty sure it is coming up at the beginning of September.
I have had great luck selling and buying baby/kids things on Craigs List. It is like ebay but no bidding and no shipping. You put the price you want and they come and pick it up from you. It is supper easy to post things on.
Good Luck to you...

I am the co-owner of the Just Between Friends Fort Worth sale - and our sale is coming up right after Labor Day - September 8-16 (that is the total running time of our sale and includes some of our set up and break down times). I'm not sure what part of town you live in but we do have 8 JBF's in the North Texas area. Ours in Fort Worth is at the Exhibit Hall at Will Rogers Memorial Center - just west of downtown Fort Worth and north of I-30.
We are expecting 850-900 consignors at our Fall/Winter sale coming up, so that means lots of good shoppers buying your things and lots of good shopping if you want to shop. Check out www.jbfsale.com and then you can go to the Fort Worth sale for all the details of what we have going on and when. Feel free to call me at ###-###-#### or my business partner Pam at ###-###-#### if you have any questions at all.
One lady has already commented that you cannnot make much money with a consignment sale unless you have a LOT of things. I don't quite agree with that. We have lots of moms and grandmoms who make tons of money with us - and even if you sell 40 things and get $150 back, that's $150 you didn't have the day before!!! If you tried to sell those 40 things at a garage sale, you'd end up taking a quarter for every item and if you take them to a consignment store, they will only take 8 of your items and hardly give you any money for them.
We'd love to have you join us if you can and we even have a JBF101 "How To" Clinic this week on Thursday, July 30th, from 7 pm to 9 pm (come and go) at the Community Enrichment Center's Community Room at 6250 NE Loop 820 in North Fort Worth (it is across the highway from the Sam's/Walmart at 820 and Rufe Snow). We will be demostrating how to prepare items and tag them for the sale and will be explaining the JBF process to anyone who wants to join us.
Best wishes on making some money and reclaiming your closet space!

JBF Fort Worth - home of the LARGEST children's consignment sale in Texas!
I suggest Just Between Friends. If you live in the Ft. Worth area, the sale is at Will Rogers. We have been selling at JBF for over 5 years now and we also volunteer. If you go to www.jbfsale.com, you can get all the info you need to consign and volunteer. We just love being involved w/ JBF!! Our kids get really excited when it is "sale week", because they know I come home w/ great stuff!! And I have made between $300-$600 just selling last years clothes, gear, and toys!! They also take maternity items!!I make WAY more at JBF than when I tried selling at Kid to Kid and garage sales, plus I get to shop the best selection of used kids stuff!! Good luck!!
from the sound of it (i haven't been though) those twice a year consignment sales sound like one of the best options especallly if you can volunteer and get into the early sale for yourself. anyway, i havne't been to those so in my experience the best consignment STORE option is on that doesn't pay cash upfront. like once upon a child or kid to kid who both seem to pay VERY little while a store that does consignment where you have to wait usually give you more by the time you're done.
craigslist has been great for me in this area.
3 letters.... J B F! As in the Just Between Friends consignment sale. They are all over the metroplex, but my favorite is the Ft Worth sale. It is biannual and the fall sale is coming up at the end of Aug. www.jbfsale.com to find one near you. The gals that own the Ft. Worth sale really have it together. They make consigning shopping and volunteering such a breeze. I make way more money here that at any consignment store. Good luck!
Kid to kid is ok but it seems they are VERY picky even if the clothes are in great condition and are name brand. I honestly think it depends on the person who is sorting the clothes because I took a huge box over once and then a few weeks later I took the same clothes they didn't take before over and they took most of them. Also, you can sell them on craigslist if you want and you can price them however you want.
I personally believe the best bet is to donate. Do goodwill, Women's shelter, etc... Better than resale.
I currently have a large bag of gently used Abercrombie, Macys things for my daughter and I was offered $5 for the bag (Once Upon a Child). Mind you.... I paid $50 each for the jeans, shorts, skirts and in no way do I expect what I paid for them back $5 for a whole bag???? You can bet they would have made a nice profit on my things.
We benefit more by donating. I hate giving them away because they are good, very gently used clothes but if I am going to give them away ($5 a bag from a resale shop?) .....I'll at least get a tax benefit.
Good luck
I would suggest donating all the clothes, blankets, and linens to a shelter because it is what they need most and clothes don't tend to sell well. As far as any gear (strollers, crib, etc.) I would put those in the just between friends sale mentioned before. You name your price through that sale if that doesn't work I would list them in the paper or ebay if you are looking to get a specific price. I would not suggest kid to kid at all. As the others have said they are way too picky and for some reason never want to offer a fair price. There is also a place called once upon a child I have not tried to sell to them but I have shopped there and their prices seem more fair.
We use Kid to Kid, but they are very very particular. They even use a black light to check for stains.
We have pretty much had zero luck selling kids clothes around here, which is crazy to me. We've just given ours away to friends.
I just found a store called Kids to Kids that I recommend.
Once Upon a Child will buy baby things.
unless you have TONS of baby stuff, Just Between friends won't make you ANY money.
Do eBay or Creig's list or just a plain yard sale with good advertising...you'll get a better turn out and you won't have to lug your stuff to where you're going...then price it EXACTLY the way they want you to...then have them turn down one slightly worn top but allow the stained shirt of another mother go by without so much as a thought.
But...keep in mind "decent" price is NOT going to be what you paid for it...no mother...that I know of...is going to pay more than 20% of value even for "slightly" worn clothes.
Good luck to you.
