I'm looking to get a Christmas tree this weekend & am wondering if I go to somewhere like Walmart or can my husband cut one. What i'm looking fir is a health tree that will look good for the whole holidays..
We got ours at Home Depot. My inlaws get their trees at Lowe's. Last year their tree lasted until March or April. In January they set it outside on their back porch and never gave it water again. Finally in either March or April, my father in law cut it up so he could burn it, even though it was still green. We'll laugh about that everlasting tree for years to come! They got a Frasier fir (so did we), which has softer needles, and doesn't seem to "shed" a lot. My sister in law got a douglas fir last year that shed all over the place.
I love getting real trees!!! They always make my house smell good too! ;) If you find somewhere to cut your own I would love to know where. We always go to Home Depot to get our tree. They usually have alot there and I can sift through them until I find the perfect one for me. I haven't had any problems with their trees living the entire holiday either. HTH

We got a beautiful tree at Moomey's Trees in Plano last weekend for $40 - it's about 8 feet. They are Coit & 15th in Plano - my dad has been going to them for 15 years - and they are awesome - great trees, good prices, and they never use pesticides. My husband keeps saying it's so pretty it looks fake! Good luck!
