I have gotten them at the Jewel in uptown in Chicago. Maybe you can ask the jewel to order them for you where you live. Or try going on-line?
Recipe calls for panko breadcrumbs. I live in Des Plaines. Do you know of a place nearby that sells Panko breadcrumbs? It's a japanese type of bread crumbs...
Thanks everyone! I went to my local Jewel and found it in the Asian section. Needless to say, my butterflied shrimp turned out wonderful using the Panko breadcrumbs! Anyone want a recipe for fried butterflied shrimp let me know! :o)

There is a Japanese market on Algonquin Rd east of 53 that might sell Panko breadcrumbs. I've never been there but my son told me about it. I think the name of the market is Mitsua. Good luck!
If you have a Trader Joes nearby, they sell Panko breadcrumbs there. At least I've bought them there in the past. Good luck...
Dominick's sells them. They are usually located in the Asian section. Otherwise you can go to Mitsuwa
Marketplace, a large Japanese market on the corner of Algonquin and Arlington Heights Road.http://www.mitsuwachicago.net/php/index.php?lang=eng
HMart in Niles or Matsui near Ikea. Good Luck!
You can find Panko breadcrumbs at whole foods located near the oil and salad dressings.
Jewel and Domincks both have them. Look with the Asian foods. You'll either find them in a plastic bag or a navy blue box. We have them on hand all the time, as the are GREAT for breading chicken for a quick dinner.
I've purchased them at the Shop N'Save grocery store in downtown DesPlaines, in the newer strip mall across from the library. Good luck!
Whole Foods and Strack and Van Til have them.
I'm pretty sure Trader Joes sells them. Is there one in your area? Otherwise I'd try Whole Foods.
Hi,
I beleive you will be able to find the bread crumbs at:
Mitsuwa Marketplace Chicago
100 E. Algonquin Rd.
Arlington Heights, IL 60005 / MAP

They have a great selection of Japanese groceries, books, toys and even a food court which sells traditional noodles.
Good luck!
I buy them at whole foods all the time. but I live in chicago... look up your nearest whole foods location. I know they are in the suburbs...
I JUST bought them at my local Jewel today. Check your local store first before making any special trips -- almost all stores now have those ethnic aisles, look in the asian section.
I got mine at Trader Joes! My mom lives in Des Plaines and goes to the TJs in either Arlington Heights (where I live) or Park Ridge! Nowadays, they might have them at Jewel or Dominicks.
They might also have them at the newer grocery store in downtown DP (Save a Lot, i think?). They seem to have cool and unique things!
How old is your toddler?

Whole foods sells panko (at least in oak park)
Trader Joe's used to be my only source, but I just bought a box at Jewel last week. They were on a low shelf by the breadcrumbs, in a boring looking box. I've seen them at Whole Foods too.
Yes, I believe Trader Joe's sells them. Look online for a location near you. Good Luck.
LOVE them! Like others have said Trader Joe's or Whole Foods might have them. Also, if there is a specialty cooking store near you that might be a good place to look. I always got mine at The Chopping Block, but that's downtown at the Merchandise Mart.
You can get them at Trader Joe's, I'm pretty sure.
whole foods has them. Good luck.
you can get Panko breadcrumbs at the Japanese store, Mitzuwa. It's on the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Algonquin.
