I live in Minnesota, obviously the weather is turning cold here so finding clothes for my three kids to wear to my sister's wedding in Florida in six weeks in nearly impossible unless I shop online. But I have looked and looked and am not finding anything that seems appropriate! Where would you momma's turn, what websites? I have searched all the big ones, gap, children's place, gymboree, janie and jack, zappos, etc. but nothing seems right (or is all red and black for the holidays!!). I have a 7 yr old boy, 6 year old girl, 2 year old girl...Just wondering if you all have a 'go to' site to find something specific. Thanks for any and all help!

Do you mind shopping second hand? We went to Yellowstone in June and needed winter gear. It's impossible to find winter clothes here in Texas in May and June. When its 106 outside, you aren't going to find gloves in the stores. I found almost everything we needed at Goodwill. It was all in great shape and I got it at a fraction of the cost of shopping online. I wonder if you would be able to find warmer clothes in second hand shops?

Look at Once Upon a Child. I was just there and they have lots of out of season kids dress up clothes.

I'm surprised Children's Place didnt have anything. They usually run great deals right now on summer/spring clothes.
I agree w/ a second hand store. Even if alot of the summer inventory is put away, you may ask to speak w/ the owner and see if you could go through the summer stock. They are usually always happy to get rid of "leftover" seasons!
Good luck! And have fun at the wedding!

When you get down here I'd just run into Target, Gap or Old Navy . 6 weeks for delievery might be cutting it close. Target online has quite a bit though.

Have you tried kohls.com? That have some really cute dresses on sale right now. (I've seen some of them in the stores still.) And if you have a Kohl's charge card, you can get an additional discount. Check retailmenot.com to see if you can find a free shipping code. Alas, the boys' clothes are not so cute. You can probably get away with khakis and a nice short sleeve button-down. Good luck!

You live near the Mall of America, and you can't find anything??? ;-)

For the boy khaki pants, shirt and tie. Simple. Go to bestdressedchild.com for 2 year old and 6 year old. Red would be fine for end of Nov or later. It is
Not outrageously hot at that time of year. Red works all year IMO.

I'm with SB on this one. You live in MPLS. You are surrounded by Goodwill stores. The one in Bloomington is great, I would avoid the one in Minnetonka because the parking lot is TINY. Try the ones in St. Paul as well.

Go here to find out what the sales are in MN...

At those ages, children grow through their clothes, rather than wear through them so finding beautiful, once or twice worn clothing in any season is a piece of cake.

Have you looked at Macy's or another big department store? I often find wedding-appropriate clothes there. For the boy, you should be able to find a polo shirt or button down and khakis at Gap or Old Navy. Target or Kohl's usually have stuff like that too. So it should be fairly easy to find something for him.

For the girls, a pretty sundress will definitely work. I usually get that stuff for my daughter (she's almost 2) at Gymboree, but I have found cute stuff at Carter's. Hanna Anderson also has really cute stuff, though maybe kind of price. I also like the dresses from Tea Collection.

Ask Gymboree if they have anything in the back. They usually store everything they didn't sell in the back until the have their big sales. I would call to see when a not busy time is with two people working so one can go in the back and search. Thy will not go into the back with only one employee working.

Your stores are fast. I've been shopping and trying to find winter stuff. LOL Then again, I bee line to the sales racks, which have the leftover summer stuff on them.

Dig in the hand me downs for your 2 year old :)

Don't forget Old Navy, 77 Kids, Crazy8, Target, Hanna Anderson, H&M kids, Nordstroms, Ebay, local consignment shops. Check with friends too, you may be able to borrow some stuff.

And a little nag, but why are you doing this now? I would have planned ahead a bit ;)

When we travel out of our season area I just pull out the kids regular clothes and use them. They'll need their winter/cool weather gear for local use but once they get a bit north they are going to find that they need shorts and tanks tops. In Oklahoma the kids have been wearing shorts and tee shirts for weeks. There was one cold spurt but it went away quickly.

So if they have summer clothes they can pack them. Then when you get a bit south have them change. When you get to Florida go shopping. It's always better to try stuff on anyway.
