My BF... excuse me, my FIANCE, and I pretty much have all of the basic housegoods already, we've been together for 4 years. Granted, our stuff isn't great, but there really isn't any need to get nice things to replace our junk because with 3 kids, the nice stuff will just get broken. Getting nice new things and holding them for later doesn't make much sense either, since our house is so small. So I'm asking, where would you recommend registering, and what to register for?! Some friends of ours got married 11 years ago and it was the same situation, so they registered for a lot of 'extras', like camping gear... we have all that. I'm at a loss and time's a tickin'!!

What can I do next?

I'll have to give it some more thought, but my two initial thoughts are:
1. register for a honeymoon or vacation
2. let it be known that you don't want ANYTHING. If you have a wedding, you could just put "Your presence is present enough, no gifts please" or something on the announcements or invitations.

Congratulations!

I love the idea of adding "Your presence is present enough, no gifts please" to the invitations......and I'm sure some guests will still add ca$h to their cards. :)

So I take it the receipt you found was for a ring?? Yay! Congrats!! :)

I would still register somewhere like Target. Regardless of how long you have been together, people are going to want to buy you something. I would just look around the house and see what is starting to look really old and add it to the list.

Again, Congrats!!
