A.K.
Hate to tell you this -and it's different for everyone- but I shrank SO MUCH after my son was finally weaned. I'd wait a little bit. Good luck!
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to supply our daughter with breast milk since her birth. I have had to pump for her since birth due to latching problems. She is now a healthy and VERY active almost 13 month old who is weaning to whole milk. We are just about there and I am down to pumping just once per day. I am wondering when my breasts will settle into their "new size" and when it would be safe to purchase some new bras. Unless there is a significant amount of shrinkage, there isn't any way my old ones will fit again! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What helped me was wearing light cotton sport bras (Hanes were pretty good). About 6 months after weening, I went to get sized. I got advice from other moms to get sized. They said that often times after nursing your cup size becomes smaller. That did not happen in my case, but I figured it was worth finding out my true size so bras would be comfortable and fit properly. I did not wear atletic bras (like Champion or Nike) unless I was working out They tend to be too tight to wear all day. Best of luck.
I bought new bra's when my daughter was 17 months old and I nursed her til she was 13 months... Kohl's has bunch on clearance so you can get one or two that are cheap now and then buy some more later once you feel like they've stopped changing! I took my mom with me and I tried on 20+ bra's to finally find 3 I liked!!! :-)
Don't try to do it alone!!!
First of all good for you for still pumping all that time. My son had a poor latch but I only lasted 7 months to pupm(I also was house shopping, packing, and having prospective buyers come in to look at the house was in) but anyway I waited a few weeks after I was pumping to get new bras. I'm still as small as ever but I just needed new ones.
I'm again pumping for baby #2(same problem as first)and was wondering how you kept pumping for over a year without giving up or losing your milk supply?
When I weaned my youngest, I was down to nursing only once a day, so I though I was at the size I would stay at. But when I stopped nursing, I was SHOCKED first at how engorged I got at first--I couldn't believe I could produce that much milk again! So once the milk dried up, I bought the new bras. Hope that helps!
Hi S.,
You should wait a bit until your milk has dried up so that you can be fitted for the right size to get the best results.A great fitting bra can make or break an outfit.
Have fun shopping,
P.
Before babies I was an A almost B cup...went to a DD while nursing and now am back to a B. It takes a while so you will have to buy a few sizes between now and when you settle back to your new normal, which by the way, will be much more saggy than before. Get some cheapy bras and expect them to be short term 'til you finally get to where you will stay.
All I can tell you is what happened to me. Before I had kids I was a barely B cup. By the time I had my second child, my breasts had gone up to a DD. They ended up all the way back down to a barely B, but it took over a year and I thought I was staying at C (had been there for around 4-6 months) so I bought a bunch of bras, but I was wrong. Don't buy too soon! Go to KMart or some other cheap place to buy a couple of "filler" bras as you reduce until you know for sure what size you are going to settle at. Good luck!
For me it took almost a year for my breasts to return to their previous shape and size. I would suggest maybe getting one transition bra for now because they will shrink considerably within the first month of weaning. Good luck!
It took my breasts a few months before they became their new size which was a whole cup size smaller. I would wait because they will change, it takes a while for all of your milk to dry up.
