I agree with momof2girls..Although I have heard of some cases where the child support does not end until the child finishs college or untill they are 21.
Does child support ends when the child turns 18 OR when the 18th year is over and the child turns 19?

I believe that its when they turn 18. That is the year that you can no longer claim a child as a dependent (college rules excluded).
I'm sure it varies from state to state, but I beleive for most states it's on the child's 18th birthday. (If it's a monthly payment, the last payment would be for the month in which the birthday falls). If the child is still in high school, sometimes it will not end until the child graduates. To be sure, you should check the child support order/divorce decree.
When the 18th year is over and the next year begins.. unless they are still a student then Alot of times it is until the child Graduates from School or when they are 19.. which ever comes comes first!
Actually, since we recently went through this. Unless a specific date or age is in your divorce agreement, Colorado law is you pay through their 19th year. We thought it was 18 as well and stopped paying at that time. My husbands ex came after us for it and we found out we were wrong and it's through the 19th year.
In the state of Colorado it is the last month on the childs 18th year.
unless stated otherwise in divorce papers, the day your child turns 18.
From what I have heard it is until they turn 18 or until they are finished with schooling.
I think it might depend on the laws in your state. My dad stopped paying my child support the day I turned 18. If you are divorced, it might be in your divorce papers. Good luck!
In California, it is the month that the child turns 18. However, since my daughter's father was thousands of dollars in arrears, I received payments until she was nearly 21.
It depends on the state where the papers were filed. It could be when the child turns 18 or when they turn 21 while in college. I've never heard it end after the 18th year. I was a child whose mom received payments within California's statutes, so I know a little about the system.
Assuming that the papers were filed within Colorado, here is a link for FAQs:

Hope that helps!

Please refer to your child support order and the laws in which state the papers are filed. All states, and all orders are not the same. Some allow/require support to continue until the child "attains the age of 18 or until age 19 if still in high school. " Some have a provision for college. The state of New York or New Jersey (I can't remember anymore which one) used to require support until the age of 21, regardless of schooling.
If your documents are not specific, contact the county clerks office and ask what the law requires, and/or contact the attorney who handled the case.
If the payor is behind, then the re-payment will continue, even though ongoing support may end.
From what i read on line its when the child turns 18, or when they are finished with highschool. (not sure what happends if they don't finish high school ? :) & that is in California!
