I started taking my daugter when she was 2-1/2 years old. I take her every 6 months.
I'm taking a survey because I have no idea... at what age did you bring your child to their dentist for the first time, and does anyone know a good one for kids in the Algonquin/Elgin area? (I'm assuming they have special certification for pediatrics). thanks!

I took my twins to the dentist for the first time shortly after their 3rd birthday. They sat nicely in the chair for the exam and cleaning. I was told it was okay to wait until they are three unless you see a problem with their teeth. I also was told that this was a good age because you could reason with them a bit and that they squirm less. I really like our dentist but she is in Arlington Hts.
Our dentist recommends that after the frist tooth come in you should make an appointment. He said it is more for the parents, they give you information on child dental care and stuff...I did not b/c I did not know...we went at 2 due to a fall on the coffee table. She had her first teeth cleaning at 2 1/2. Good luck! Oh, our dentist is in Bufflao Grove, it is a drive from Wauconda but they are good.
I took my daughter for her first time just after she turned two. I think some say around 3, but I've heard as early as 18 months too. We took her to Dr. (Leila?)Younger in Algonquin. Her office is on Algonquin road between 25 and 31. She was really great and her staff was wonderful also. I highly recommend her.
Good Luck,
S.
