When Did You Start Ovulating Again After Having a Baby?

We are planning to start ttc our 4th soon. Our youngest is almost 9 months old.
I have had 5 periods since she was born and all were very regular except for one cycle.
I just started testing for ovulation this cycle, but haven't gotten a positive result on an OPK yet, and I'm almost at the end of the cycle.
I was wondering if this could mean I haven't started ovulating yet?

Does anyone have experience/knowledge of when they started ovulating again?
(My 2nd was conceived when my first was 12 months and I was still breastfeeding)

Would love to hear your experiences with this!

What can I do next?

It was different after each of my 3. My third was the worst, for the 6 weeks after she was born my body kept trying to start my periods back up and at 6 weeks I had a full and proper period. They kept up semi-regular until they went completely crazy and it now looks like at the age of 43 I am in menopause, this Sept will be a full year of no periods. My other 2 it was probably around 6 or 7 months before I started getting periods back, it might have been a little longer with my second. I got pregnant with my second and third children as well as one I miscarried between them all while still breastfeeding their older sibling.
All 3 were exclusively breastfed, no bottles, no pumping, no pacifiers, on demand day and night. Nothing different beyond what my body decided to do.
Every women is different and each pregnancy can be different.
I suggest putting away all the tests and just enjoy the trying and it'll happen soon enough.

My first- 6 weeks after he was born. And I was breastfeeding.
My second- never ovulated again. I was diagnosed with premature menopause (at 35 years old) after a nasty months-long bout with MRSA after she was born. Mother nature shut this factory down all on her own.
Honestly, it can be all over the place. All women start ovulating again at different times after birth. A negative ovulation test is a good sign that your cycle has started again due to breastfeeding more than likely.

You might need to use 2 ovulation tests, since the morning test can sometimes miss the LH surge. If you go online to Marquette University's NFP page for the Marquette Method, you can get access to their forums, protocols, online charts, and physicians who can guide you through interpreting your fertility signs postpartum. http://nfp.marquette.edu/index.php

I ovulated in the 2nd-4th months postpartum, then had 4 anovulatory cycles, and then another with ovulation, then another without a peak. When I checked with the Marquette site it was suggested to me to also test in the evening since the morning test is probably missing my LH surge due to my very late bedtimes. To determine the best day to start the evening test, you can ask the forum and Dr. Fehring can probably help you out.

I knew I was ovulating when I started to get tons and tons of discharge. With my 3rd, she was about 11 months at the time. We were breastfeeding but not much.

Please make sure you give your body time to heal before having another child. Pregnancy does wear on you.
