Hello! Just found out this AM that I am pregnant! I have a DS who will be 2 in Sept and I had a miscarriage at the end of March 2009, when I was about 7 weeks pregnant. However, from what the ultrasound showed, the fetus never did anything besides get implanted. During the pregnancy that turned into a miscarriage, I never had many signs of being pregnant, for now obvious reasons.
I remember from my first pregnancy that I was tired and morning sick for awhile, but can't remember when I first started noticing those signs. I will put a call into the DR tomorrow, but of course I am a bit paranoid now, seeing how my last pregnancy ended. So I am wondering what signs you first noticed and when they appeared. Thanks!
Thank you, everyone, for your responses. I think that I was worried because I remember feeling sick with my first pregnancy and I never did with my miscarriage, so I associated bad things with not "feeling" pregnant, even though I am newly pregnant (I am guessing 4 weeks). I went in to have my hcg level tested yesterday and go back tomorrow to make sure it's doubling. I did the same thing with my miscarriage and didn't miscarry until the day of my dating ultrasound. I am sure I will feel a little nervous until we see/hear a heartbeat on the us, but your commenst made me feel better already. Thanks!

Hello there,
With both of my pregnancies, I first felt really tired and bloated for the first 3 weeks, which is when I found out I was pregnant. I also developed a severe head cold. Then after that, with the first I got the all-day sickness around 6 weeks, and with this one just mild morning sickness at about 8-9 weeks.

With both my successful pregnancies, I was morning sick right about the 10 week appointment. I was not sick at all with my miscarriage (which was my first pregnancy). What I did to cut down on my stress with the second was request that I get the blood test to make sure the hormones were doubling as they should. That can be done at any point after you find out you're pregnant. Talk to your midwife or OB about getting the blood work, explaining that you want reassurance after the miscarriage. You shouldn't have a problem getting your person to sign off on it.

I didn't get morning sickness until about 6-8 weeks. I felt really tired with my first, and it started right away (I was tired before I took a preg test.), but with my second I didn't notice any tiredness. I had more morning sickness with my son than with my daughter. Every pregnancy is different, so try not to worry too much if it isn't the same as your first.

With my first - I started noticing the symptoms around 6 weeks - but with my second not until around 7-8 weeks. Some women never have any real symptoms.
Good luck and congratulations!

Hi S.,
Congrats :) Each pregnancy is different, you might not feel the symptoms as early or they might be different from the first. Try to relax until you get to the doctor, because right now it is truly a waiting game anyway!

I am D. L. I have three (3) children and all had the same results. I never know when I am pregnant, what I do recalled I would stay just like that and at about 6 o'clock my foot bottom would get cold, still be menustrating, when I decided to check with the Doctor it would be that I am either 4 or 5 months pregnant.
I am a Senior Clerk, Part-time Lecturer and now I am a Distributor of Foreverliving Products. I have 3 children aged 27, 26 and 17 and married for 28 years.

Hi S.,
First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm in a similar situation. I had a miscarriage at the end of March and now I'm almost 10 wks pregnant. I have a son who just turned 2. I had terrible m/s with my son and it started pretty early. This time I didn't really have m/s until 8 wks. Then I just had a few days of feeling OK, which actually made me nervous. Then yesterday I felt sick again. I guess every pregnancy is different and some don't have any m/s and some say it comes in waves. All we can do is try not to worry too much (easier said than done) and cherish the little miracle growing in there. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well, having no period was the first time I thought "I wonder if I could be pregnant?", but I've had a pretty irregular period at times so I thought it was just another couple of months that I would miss it and then it would come back full force. I was tired, but I am anemic so that is a usual occurrence as well. Other than that, the first time I really noticed feeling pregnant was not until like 12 or 13 weeks. The only thing I felt at that point was basically a feeling of being bloated- it was uncomfortable to wear tight pants and to sit in certain positions. So when I was approx 14 weeks along I had the pregnancy test which was of course positive, and an ultrasound the same day. Yep, pregnant! Had no idea that was coming! My son was big enough to look like a little human and was moving around a lot already [though I could not feel it yet at that point]. After I knew I was truly pregnant, that is when I started having all sorts of symptoms. Funny how the mind works

I think everyone is different especially if you do or don't experience bad morning sickness. I'm 10 wks with our second. I knew I was pregnant at 5 weeks, but didn't 'notice' much until about 6.5 weeks. Thats when the ms started. I had noticed my breasts getting bigger and even my waist was bigger before I realized I was pregnant though-but not enough to really think much about it.
I'm sure it will all go well-congratulations!

Pregnancies beyond the first are so different. I too miscarried at 7 weeks with my second pregnancy (I have a 2 y-o daughter), but did have some symptoms. Mainly being tired a lot! Some people are lucky and barely feel anything. Just relax and trust that everything is fine. I know exactly what you are feeling right now, but your little guy will keep you busy. And I am a teacher too!! Enjoy the rest of the summer and try to get some rest!

With my first I had very few symptoms in the first trimester. I had really minor morning sickness when I didn't eat and some bloating.
I am twelve weeks with the second one and really have had no big symptoms. We did an US at 6 1/2 weeks and heard the heartbeat by doppler at 12 weeks so I know the little one is growing but truthfully until I start to really show or have any movement in there I sometimes can forget I'm even really pregnant.
The only thing that is different since the first one is that I can feel things full of blood down there, almost like being bruised after delivery sometimes. Also, since I stopped nursing about 6 months ago every now and then I get a twinge in a breast that feels almost as though it is filling with milk.
Not a lot of fatigue or sickness or tenderness or anything, so maybe don't stress too much and see if you can get an early US to see a heartbeat (after 6 weeks is best). I think if they see cardiac activity the chance for MC is very small after that point.
