All of the department stores will have nice wallets to choose from at varied prices, especially around that time. I would go into the store and look around in the tie section. Thats usually where I see them.
My husband desperately needs a new wallet, and I'd like to get him one for Christmas.
Where's the best place to buy one for a good price?
I believe the one he has now is either leather or a very good faux leather... he's had it forever and loves it, so I'd like to stick with something similar.
Which brands do your husband's prefer? Which one's should I stay away from?
@Grandma T, FOSSIL, great brand, great starting point, thanks!!
He has a bi-fold, and I am really trying to find him something identical to exactly what he has, I know better than to get him something different, LOL!

My DH is not brand-conscience but he has leather, too. Think about your DH's needs and style. Would he prefer a wallet with extra room for a lot of cards or would he want one with an extra insert for pictures? Or both? My DH likes bifold, too, and I think he got his last one at Macy's.
I found one at Target a couple of years ago and hubby is still using it. I think it was under $30. It is leather and folds once. The only thing he doesn’t like is that after a while his credit cards get bent, from it being in his back pocket and sitting. I found one of those aluminum ones but it barely holds anything. I wouldn’t' recommend it.
My husband likes the front pocket wallet that has a money clip attached. I get him a new one about every 3 or 4 years from fossil.com. Here's a link:

R.:
Look at the one that he has now - Bob has a leather one that I bought at Macy's last year - a bi-fold with an extra attachment (?) for his drivers license. This attachment (for lack of better word) folds over the right side and so he can have two picture IDs.
if he likes a tri-fold - I have a Wrangler brown leather one that I was going to list on ebay later today.
fossil. that is where my guy gets his wallets and they last for a long time, he had one for 8 or 9 years since he started carrying one and then this past year just got a new one,
The one thing that I learned when buying men wallets is that you have to note if it is a bi-fold or a tri-fold or whatever it is... he has and if he loves it... Men are not like women... we buy purses in every color and style and love them all... men are creatures of habit... if it's not broke don't fix it kind of thing... I remember buying my dad or husband of FIL a wallet that was not the kind he carried... Bi fold rather than tri or something like that and they were very sweet about it but never used it till I realized that was the reason. Also I would buy leather, it is softer and just better quality. As for price wait for a sale...if you have time and it sounds like you do, if you are buying for Christmas. But my biggest tip would be stick to the style they carry! Hope that helps!
Try to buy the style like her currently has: tri-fold or bi-fold.
I used to buy them at Mervyn's but now have to go to Target.
I try to buy the same style, color and type (bi or tri).
Think flat. The flatter the better since they put it in their pocket.
Don't be surprised if he's attached to his old one. ;)
My husband has two. One from American Eagle which is well loved and his favorite, he has had it for about 4 years. Another from Fossil he got last year when he got a new watch.
I buy bags and wallets and such at eBags.com What I like is that you get to see pictures of different views of the product, and you can read the reviews (I sort by negative reviews and read those first). Their prices are great, returns are easy, and I like that I can sit behind my computer instead of running from store to store. However, I have seen wallets at all the department stores, especially around Christmas time.
The last time I bought a leather wallet, it was from Wilson's Leather and it lasted years! Try Wilson's Leather's website.
My husband only like Fossil Wallets. We have a store called Herbergers that has great sales and I believe you can shop online with them.
Good luck!
Seems like guys either prefer the bi-fold or the tri-fold.
Mine likes the bi-fold.
I think right now he has a Dockers wallet.
