Hi,
I just wondered if anyone has any great ideas for a gift for our swim teacher? She's been wonderful for us this summer and I'd like to show our appreciation with something other than the typical gift card. Thanks!

As a preschool teacher, I personally loved gift cards. However, what I found extra special was a note attached from the parent that told me how much they appreciated me and how much their child enjoyed my class. A personalized note really meant a lot.
Being she is a water enthusiast, a nice, plush beach towel. I bet you can find one on clearance. Or, maybe some bath/body products for after swimming.
What about some kind of baked goody? Homemade or store bought. It would show thought, not be too expensive, and something others might not thing of. You could even do roll out cookies in fun water themed shapes if you got adventerous.
Best of luck!

G.,
Hello I was wanting to know about your swim teacher I have a 9 month old and really want her to take swim lessons in the fall. Does your teacher come to your house? Could I get there name and number? Thanks T.
I'd stay away from the water theme- everyone probably does that-
I have a friend that does gorgeous travel bags for women-

A swim teacher does not make a lot of $$....they are probably on minimum wage or similar. A gift card to a restaurant is the gift of time...I am a teacher and I love those....rather than "stuff." Maybe you could put it in a basket full of healthy foods. Good luck.
How about some flowers or a single rose? That's what we gave our daughter's swim coach & she loved it!
Sports Academy gift card or cash and some clever item the kids made for packaging with photos.
I like the massage idea.
I also agree that you should probably stay away from the water/beach theme.
Maybe a few pictures of some of the kids from the class (including yours of course) in a little scrap book/photo book.
Blessings,

I know this isn't an answer for you, but was she a private teacher? My son was taking private lessons and we had to fire the teacher...
What about a massage?
Hello G. - I would consider bath and body products like a body wash that we use from Origins. It has charcoal to aborb the chlorine from the skin and smells fresh. It's called Skin Diver. We love it after the pool; since it helps to remove the chlorine, our skin doesn't dry out. Just a thought, it's a practical gift that would show you put thought into it. I think she'd really appreciate it. I do most of my shopping online www.origins.com Hope this helps!
What about sunscreen or towel? She uses both!
For our ball coach we did a 3x4 personalized magnet.
It costs $8 and can have whatever you want on it. You get in about a week from the time that you order. It usually ships the next day. Go to http://J..yoursmh.com and you can make your own. It's easy and fun. If you have any questions, contact me!

We just finished swim lessons and my kids (ages 7 & 4) and I made their swim teachers cupcakes. We've also done brownies in the past. Our swim teachers are usually older teenagers and appreciate the treats. They always seem to really enjoy having something the kids make -- whether it's food or a picture they painted.
I think you should take a real nice snap shot of your kids and include it with a bouquet of fresh flowers, that way she can enjoy the flowers and have a monento of the kids!
Good luck!

What about a gift certificate for a pedicure? It's cheaper than a massage, and being in the pool all the time I'm sure she could use it.
