What can I do next?

I used to save these all because I feel so bad tossing them out. However, most times they are just taking up space and I never look back at them. With my New Years resolution to finally declutter...I've decided that the Christmas cards are getting tossed. It's a week later and whadoya know...I don't miss them! lol

After displaying them throughout the season, I give them to my 6 year old DD who LOVES 'scrapbook' type art activities. She cuts them out and makes a beautiful (well, eye of the beholder) collage with them. I wish we received more, she loves it and it keeps her so busy and creative.

I save mine and put them on the fridge for a few weeks, then I toss them unless it's family, then I save them in the file cabnet.

Garbage except for the 1 that I have from family we rarely see.

I'm sure the 50+ I sent out which was a photo collage and our best ever card ended up in the trash of many. It's just to be expected I suppose.

I use to keep them each year and send out my Christmas cards to those I received ones from. Now I toss them all. I don't have time for the clutter anymore, and I'm getting fewer and fewer cards each year.

My mother in law cuts the fronts of the cards off and uses them as tags for presents. I guess she throws the photo cards away.

To each his own, but I can't take having a giant stack of cards taking up storage space anymore!

I throw most of them away. I keep my siblings' cards and my best friends card. They hang on the fridge for a while:)

If one is particularly good or special I will use it as a bookmark. Otherwise I trash/recycle them with the other cards. It hurts my heart for a minute, but then I forget about it. :)

I take them and put them on my fridge for the year. I always replace the ones from last year. So if you saw my fridge right now, the freezer looks like a collage of kids. :)

I enjoy the photo cards when they come - really! I take time to enjoy them rather than just glancing at them.

Then I divide the photo cards into two piles. The ones that will make me smile through the year when I see them I put in an envelope and keep in a drawer, so I can enjoy them some more, at least for a while.

The ones from my relatives I always keep, whether they make me smile or not. That's family stuff that my descendants might appreciate - yes, even the pictures that should have been outtakes!

The photos I have looked at and only thought, "Well, that's very nice," have done their jobs, and that paper can be recycled.

I only get them from our immediate family and best friends, who if not sending the photo cards would have sent photos of their kids anyway. We save them in a photo box with our other family photos. It is kind of neat to see how the kids grow from year to year. It is especially nice for us because we are a military family, and we live 2500 miles from all of our loved ones.

I have a pin board in the kitchen that each year we rotate the new photo cards. The old ones go in a photo box (used to go in a album) . We love looking back over the years of the special people in our lives. The photo board is a fun way of enjoying the photo cards all year.

Shoebox for me, my mom used to do the album. I can't bear to throw them out. I know how much time, effort and money can go into them. Plus I think it's fun to look back periodically.

I just decided I am going to cut out the picture portion of the card (cut off the greeting) and make an album just for that. I have several albums and don't print out pics that often anymore...solution for both issues!

I decide which ones I want to keep and toss the rest. They go in our photo albums along with all the other holiday photos. Sometimes I need to cut them down to make them fit but at least the photos are there along with the rest of our family history.

I put mine in a binder. I have a plastic insert for each year. Then I store it in the box with the Christmas decorations. It's fun to see everyone growing up year after year.

I made an album when we started getting a lot. The next year I saved them in a Ziploc with the X-mas stuff, the next 2 years I did that again. This year I tossed them. I thought, "would I miss them terribly?" We just have very little storage. I think I'll try to keep them every couple years. I did keep one on the fridge of a baby we don't have any other pics of. I also kept one that was just a photo (not a photo made into a card) of my cousin's kids with Santa. Good luck!

Garbage for the random ones I get sporatically, not everyone does them yearly. I put away the ones I get yearly in a filed shoebox. I label the family name and put them away every year. Example: Callanan, Gonzalez, Contreras.....etc. It also depends on what the people mean to you. The pictures I get from people I never see, yet claim to be my friends, go in the garbage too. I just went through a bunch of pictures and threw them out based on that fact.

I cut them smaller, just the picture, glue them on a few sheets of construction paper and laminate for a table runner. The kids like to look at them while eating breakfast and it helps them remember our friends and family we can't see as often. I make a new runner every year. Haven't figured out what to do with the old runners, but it folds flat for storage for now! :)
