Okay today I went to get my son after he woke up for his nap. And to my suprise he had his diaper off. So what to do since he has apparently learned how to take his own diaper of? I would hate to find a dirty diaper all over the place and what was in it all over the place in the future.

What can I do next?

well there are a few things you can do :)

put his diaper on backwards, keep him in onesies...if that still doesn't help then my other thing that worked was put them in onesies and then a pair of shortails. If it's too hard they usually stop

Good luck girlie!

My daughter did that, and someone told me that is a son of needed to potty train, I tried that but she really wasnt ready, so I switched to pull ups, or if she did have a diaper on, I would put her in one piece outfits, but when she was in the crib playing, I would take everything out of the crib, and just let her take her diaper off, I of course had a plastic cover under the sheet, that way if she did have a accident, all I had to do was take off the sheet, spray the plastic cover and wipe. She had a awful time with rashes, so I thinks thats why I did it, also at that time I switched to something called butt paste and it worked wonders.

I had a child like that at one time but still not ready to pottie train yet and lets face it those diapers are not cheep. The if you found them a day or so later! That was never fun. I am not telling you this is the right answer others may have found better solutions but when you get desperate like I did you use black electrical tape. Its safe not harmful. Ny little he got tired of trying to get the tape off so he stopped and eventually will potty train. I know it sounds goofy and crazy but it worked for me and my son. By the way my son is now ten years old.

Well....we just hit this stage also....one minute he was watching Little Einsteins, the next....dancing nude to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cd...lol I have started having to leave a onesie on him so that he can't get at the tabs on his diaper. Another thing I do is since he wants to be naked I let him have 10 minutes of nude time to air out, because it could be because of a rash that he wants to be rid of his diaper. Usually after he has his supervised nude time i don't have to worry about him stripping off himself in a most inopportune time and he is happy because he got to be naked...lol Have fun with this stage, when it comes back around...it won't be so cute....lol

Use onesies and/or shorts. I had this problem too and I used the onesies and he attempted but could never actually get to the diaper. They cant figure out how to take shorts off either. He stopped after the first day. I just always make sure he wears one or the other.

Just a little chuckle for you, my now 7 yr old daughter was THE WORST about this! The slightest wetness or poo and she hated it!! I actually had to start putting duct tape around her every time I changed her diaper!! You should have seen the looks I'd get in public as I'd change her diaper and pull out the duct tape and go around a baby twice just to make sure she didn't get it off!! She would get SOOOO mad, but it made sure I didn't find any little surprises around the house!

Hugs.

When my kids started taking their diapers off, I started putting them on them backwards. They couldn't figure out where the tapes went to get them off. This worked for quite a while. Hope it helps.

When my daughter started doing that, I decided to try to potty train her. She was only 13 mos. old at the time. She's now 5 yrs. old and she's NEVER had any accidents or problems since. Maybe it's your son's way of telling you he's ready.

I've had babies do that to me. My only suggestion is to make sure you put shorts, a onsie, a blanket sleeper....anything on him that covers his diaper up so it makes it more difficult for him to get to it. With my son, the only time he pulls his diaper off is if he can it is exposed and can feel it. Also, if he's pulling soiled diapers off, make sure you don't give him time to lay in there awake and bored and consider that maybe if he's consciously taking off a dirty diaper he might be showing you that he's ready to be potty trained.

If he hasn't figured out how to pull pants/shorts off, i would put those or underwear over the diaper. It might just be a short-lived thing. My daughter only did it a couple of times, but that was the end of nightgowns for a while. Luckily I never walked into a mess. Good Luck! Hopefully it will pass soon.
