Hey guys, my little one's first birthday is April 10 and I want to do an Easter craft. But if the kids paint eggs they'll be rotten by the time Easter comes around. So should I have them paint plastic eggs? They won't look that cute. I need an Easter craft that's appropriate for 1 year olds and toddlers as well. HELP!!!!

What can I do next?

What about some sponges in the shape of eggs that they could dip in paint, and create a picture. At that age, any "craft" you do will require major adult help, so hopefully you plan on having parents around. Or, could you have some real bunnies or chicks and take pictures of the kiddos, decorated with an easter picture frame that they helped make? Just a few thoughts! Good luck, it sounds like a bit of chaos and a bit of fun! ~A.~

Styrofoam eggs would be something different.

hobby stores or michaels used to have like a paper mache kind of egg thing that you could paint or put glue and glitter on.

Oriental trading company (http://www.orientaltrading.com) has a lot of reasonably priced Easter crafts available.

As for the toddler craft project...at Christmas time I printed some pictures of Santa on card stock, gave each kid some cotton balls and had them glue on Santa's beard. For the ones who couldn't quite do the glue yet, we just put the glue on the paper for them. I wonder if you couldn't use the same premise and put fur on the Easter bunny or his tail?

Somebody had a similar idea, but once I did a craft with toddlers that they loved...I got a coloring sheet with a lamb that they colored and put stickers on...then they glued cotton balls on the sheep's body.
You can do a lamb or bunny...
