What's Your Favorite Butter?

I don't regularly use sticks of butter. (We use the spray butter on bread for toast, and my husband likes the Smart Balance light spread occasionally). What is your favorite butter for baking? I'm trying a recipe for apple pie and want to buy a good butter. Any recommendations?
Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

When baking, I usually just grab the store brand of sticks.

They can be frozen and then thawed in the fridge or on the counter when needed.

When baking, always use unsalted butter -- real butter, no margarine or "spreadable" butter. The extra salt and/or oils can easily ruin a recipe. Land O' Lakes is a good butter, as is Kerrygold. But honestly, I bake a lot and frequently use the store brand from Tom Thumb (Lucerne, I think) and everything turns out fine.

Also, unless the recipe specifies that the butter be cold (as in pie crusts), always use room-temperature butter in baking.

Good luck with the pie!

I like Land O Lakes. Don't try and save money by buying the Walmart brand. It doesn't taste as good.

We only use REAL butter. I usually keep a good supply from Costco. If I run low or something I get land o lakes.

I have also used both Land o lakes and a store brand, which for me, either one has been fine. Just be sure you DO NOT get anything but real butter for baking..nothing with any other oils, or any kind of low fat, or spread type butters. It has to be the real thing:) Happy Baking!! ~A.~

I use Land O' Lakes, but what ever butter you decide, use the salted butter. It really does make a difference in your baking.
