I would like to be a very well paid book critic. Then I could get paid to sit on a beach and read. :)
Hard question. What would be your dream job? What components need to be there?
I can't think of a dream job. I would need to get the warm fuzzies (like I'm making a differance), a decent paycheck, feel valued, and challenged. What job is that? I don't know. I have BS in Poltical Science, what do you suggest?
Bernie, that does sound dreamy! I think if you get to spend your day doing what you love, you have hit the life lottery! I can't go into politics - too many skeletons in my closet! But I had thought, once upon a time about being a lobbyist. I could lobby for cause I believe in. A friend of mine works for the SPCA and he's back and forth to Austin and Washington rallying on behalf of animals. I would love to get paid to champion a cause. I would also love to be a private chef with a catering business and book empire on the side. I would use all organic, locally sourced, healthful foods. I like cooking, just not in a restraunt atmoshpere.

I would love to have a coffee shop. I'd love to make pastries and desserts to go along with it, and maybe have wine too!! Starbucks actually stole my idea. : ) Anyway, I just love a good cup of coffee, and I love to socialize over coffee at work. Anyone at work, who comes in my office, and says that they hate coffee, are coffee drinkers in no time. Coffee brings people together I think!! That would be my dream job.
Dream Vanity Job: Designing/decorating people's spaces/homes
Dream Make-A-Difference Job: Environmental/Anti-GMO/Health Organization
Work from Home Mamapedia Monitor
Dad On Purpose's Assistant! LOL
Seriously, I'd like to stage houses for sale.
No clue why......
I have had an extreme amount of jobs covering a vast amount of skill sets since turning 14, starting with a paper route.
And to be quite honest, I am the happiest I have ever been right now. The perfect job isn't about money, it's about how it makes you and those around you feel and where I'm at right now makes me and those around me feel very good :)
Hi T.
I was just having this conversation with hubby today.
My dream job would be to become a healer in reiki.
I am very spiritual with prayer and speak to the angels regularly.
I was laughing telling my husband that I will do my best to heal the world if I won the lotto and had no money worries.
Then I could spend my time training in healing, work that I would love.
I used to like my job as a social worker but not anymore. It is not the clients but the stress it entails and the feeling that I have to work to bring in the money. It makes me feel trapped at times.

For you ,would you work as an adviser for a politician or go into teaching in university or even into politics yourself ( the 1st female president)
Hi T.-
Funny you would ask this. I was dropping off one of my daughter's toa spend over a bit ago...and we were chatting.
During the course of the conversation, I said I would LOVE to take over the drama/theatre program at the HS.
I said it without even thinking...and yes...now that you asked...I would love LOVE L O V E it!
Now that my kiddos are older (15 and up)...I am ready to begin to write that new chapter in my life...might as well 'aim' for a dream job...yes?
Best luck!

Seriously.. my dream job would be to be able to be home with my daughter, and future son and not have to work....
I spent most of my life wanting to be a Mom... in a perfect world I would have 4 or 5 kids and be able to stay home with them, not have to work at home while I stay at home...
I pretty much have mine now. We own our own company and don't answer to anyone.
It's rewarding to see sales and profits increase and manage through the challenges of owning a company.
We had some naysayers say we'd never make it or not be in business long but we are on year 4 , the company carries us financially, very rewarding and sakes were up over 20% from last year. We're on target to surpass our forecast sales this year of $4 million.
We've worked hard and it has paid off. We will continue to work hard and move to the next level.
My all time favorite though is mom to my daughter. I am so proud of the woman she is becoming. She's driven and ready to take on her own challenges.

Editor of InStyle magazine :)
working for (the RIGHT) lobby would be great, i agree :)
i think the perfect job is with great people, doing something that helps someone, and allowing me to support my family. i have that. beyond that (specifics?) who knows! i don't think i could be happy doing one "thing" forever, if i wasn't working with great people. that's what really matters :)
Start a Foundation.
For what you believe to be needed or what you love.
finding answers for & empowering others....that's my dream job. Part computer research, part helping others.
as for you, contact your local government offices & talk to HR. Contact your local politicians. How about a lawyer's office? What about your college? Have you ever considered teaching Political Science?
Hope this helps!
midwife.....:) I can just see it.
My dream job would be an editor or an author!
Currently I have a BA in Geology but I been a math and reading tutor, a math teacher, and now a service manager for an independent automotive repair shop. With a liberal arts education under your belt, I believe you can learn to do pretty much any job :)
My 2 dream jobs:
1) What I am doing now except without all the headaches of the particular people I work with. If it was just my husband and I working the business it would be great because we work really well together.
2) Go back to tutoring but run my own business. I absolutely love helping kids, especially one-on-one. I had a chance to volunteer a lot at my kid's school 2 years ago and did a lot of one-on-one tutoring again and it rejuvenates my soul.
I've always wanted to be a published writer. I still write when I have time but I don't really think I'm good enough. Being a teacher is a good thing but I don't think it was really think it was meant for me.
I would love to be an author or interior designer for the rich and eccentric or a nature photographer or a dog breeder or a maternity nurse or be paid to travel and give reviews of amazing hotels and locations.
Honestly though, I've GOT my dream job - I get to stay home with my three girls.
My dream job doesn't exist - yet! Stellar Cartographer. Mapping of the stars and other objects in space, preferably in 3D (even better in 4D). In my dream life, I would be doing this on the Enterprise, of course!
I would love to have my own day care :)
I have lots of dream jobs!! The world is our oyster ;)
My most cherished that I hope will be true before I'm 70 ;) is to own my own Floral Design business/shop. (My 5 year plan turned into 10 since my 2 kids first five years are more important to me than even my dream job but it's still The Plan.)
Others include: creative writing, greeting card designer, getting paid to be a Martha Stewart type, landscape designer/nursery owner, mural painter, B&B owner, professional gift wrapper, concierge, party planner, dog sitter, makeup artist, stage set designer, work for a charity, farmer... I could probably go on but I'll stop here :)
If your education doesn't match your desires you can always get more education! :)
