Im not a purse carrier either, unless I have to be. When I do have one it is usually just a wallet, cell phone, pen, gum, wet wipes. Thats about it.
HAHAHHAAAAAAHHAA ok, sorry had to get that out ... I am a purseaholic ... I could use rehab ... My purse
1. wallet
2. cell pone
3. kid emergency snacks
4. lipstick/stain/gloss
5. small thing of fabreeze
6. bobby pins, hair pony, comb, mini hair spray
7. small mirror
8. gum/teeth brush things
9. pen/pad of paper
All of these things are in smaller bags of thier own so I can get what I need right away ... beauty bag, smile bag, note pad bag, wallet, phone (charger too). I live out of this thing.
Wow. I couldn't live without a purse. I'm not a purseaholic, I actually HATE swapping purses. I tend to buy a quality leather bag in black or brown and use it until it starts to wear out. I just keep far too much stuff in them, to swap from one to another. I like the security of knowing I have what I need. And what I will probably need sometime this week. And what I might need.
*Wallet (which contains Cash, Driver's License, a credit and a debit card, a couple of photos of my hubby and kids, receipts for all my debit purchases prior to being recorded in my checkbook register, my insurance card, my sub shop frequent buyer cards, and my check for giving at church).
*coupon "walllet"
*pens & mechanical pencils
*lipstick (2 shades) and lip balm
*baby nail clippers
*emory board
*tic tacs
*gum (multiple varieties-- hubby doesn't like what the kids do, lol)
*misc candy/granola bar/snack packet
*tampon
*loose change
*compact
*birth control pill pack
*travel size Advil
*loose index cards (great for jotting down grocery lists or school supply lists while waiting in a pick up line at one of the kids' schools, or leaving my cell # with someone)
*occasionally I'll stick my DSLite in there to wait out a piano lesson
*neosporin
*Chloraseptic throat strips
*Cell phone
*keys
*spare car key
*sometimes sunglasses in their case
*dental floss
*a loose kleenex
I tend to put my medicinal items (birth control/advil/dental floss) in an inside zipper pouch. My lipstick/chapsticks go in a 'cellphone' slot on the interior of the purse. My cellphone clips to the "lip" of my purse. I never use the space supposedly designed for cellphones, b/c I always buy the clip back thingee for my cell phones. When I get into the car, I usually clip it to the visor for easy access, in case my purse slides out of reach during travel. My keys and my cell phone stay IN MY PURSE at ALL TIMES except when I am in the car, or they are in use. I never lay my phone anywhere. Goes straight back into the purse... and I NEVER leave home without it. Even when I am grabbing my purse, my cup of coffee and something for one of the kids on the way out the door. :)
I keep a hairbrush in my car... so I no longer keep one in my purse. I also have a box of Kleenex in the car, so I just grab one for my purse when I exit the car if i feel like I might be sniffly.
I seem to carry as much stuff for me as for my hubby it seems sometimes: HIS sunglasses, "do you have any gum?", "do you have some nailclippers?" "Do you have something I can put this (used) gum IN?"; and for my kids: "Mom, do you have a pencil?" "Can I have some gum?" "Do you have a tissue?" "Can I have a quarter?"...
I would be crazy without a purse to keep it all in.
Main part: keys wallet, phone
Side part: floss, lip gloss, blue tooth, pen, hair tie, gum, i-pod
LOL Some of these responses are so funny. I don't have a big purse because then I'd end up with way more stuff in there than I already have and it would be too heavy! So I do have my wallet (which seems like a little purse within itself), receipts, chap stick, lotion, and coupons. Oh yeah, and my cell phone.
I could not imagine leaving home without my purse. I love purses and they have to coordinate with my clothing for the day. Yes sometimes I switch purses daily.
In my purse
Wallet w/id,bank card,bussiness cards,money,insurance card etc
lip gloss
eye liner
travel size mouthwash
gum
small flashlight
checkbook
cell phone(unless Im home)
tylenol (at one point I had headaches a few times a week)
wet naps (single packets)
right now I always keep a bottle of water in there because Im pregnant and Im thirsty alot (I refuse to stop and buy a single for $1+ when I buy 24 pk for $4)
No trash or old receipts. I cant stand a junky purse.
What no purse my hubby would so love this...
1.Cell phone
2.wallet that contains $$$,debit card,emergency credit card,health insurance cards,& drivers license
4.mini bag that has chap stick, lip gloss, pen, pocket knife, water flavor packets, gum (for the kids),check book for preschool payments
5.coupons,receipts that are from recent purchases(gets cleared out weekly)
6.mini calendar for appts that is a must have with 3 kids :)
sunglasses, kleenex, hand sanitzer, lotion stays in the car along with diaper bag items.
You're a big girl now! :)
- DSLR (I take it everywhere with me...actually my "purse" is my camera bag, and I've yet to meet a man who has any problem holding it)
- Passport (I keep my drivers license hidden in an odd place in my car... I DO NOT like the idea that a thief could get my home address via my driver's license, and a passport is valid ID anywhere in the world)
- Cash
- Cards (debit & giftcards)
- Meds
- Makeup
- Cellphone
- Moleskin notebook
- Pens
- Tampons
- Lighter
.
I hate purses and wouldn't carry one if I didn't need my wallet and cell phone.
Contents:
wallet
cell phone
chap stick
pen
Sunglasses, gum, germ-x and kleenex stay in the car console.
Funny question! Cell phone, wallet, checkbook, lipstick, migraine medicine, mints, tissues, tampons, pen, sunglasses.
Oh, I usually don't carry a purse and when I do...
wallet or I use the small zipper compartment to put dl, credit and debit cards, frequent shopper cards for various stores
lots of reciepts...trash basically...the random coupon, flyer from the windshield of my car...
a small pack of wet wipes/hand sanitizer
one disposible diaper
my husband hates that I do this, but I will just grab the card or cash and my licensce that I need for the store I am going in and leave my purse in the car (then I forget to put the items BACK in the purse and they end up in the laundry...)...it is very rare for me to carry the whole thing, and when I do it is as an alt for the diaper bag...
OMG how do you function without a purse?
I have:
wallet, keys, swiss army knife, Tide stain stick, purse size Lysol spray, pens & pad, Mommy cards, Kleenex, hand wipes in packets, gum, sunglasses, glasses, hand sanitizer.
I don't carry make-up.
Wallet, 1 small bottle which has an assortment of aspirin, advil, allergy meds, stomach acid med, etc for ER purposes, breath mint, chapstick, lip gloss, mirror, brush, business cards, cell phone, pen, nail clippers or file, usually my smal digital camera, especially for game days!
Things I can't go without chapstick, lip gloss, phone, 1 credit/debit card, /breathmint.
Note: I am not a gum chewer, HATE seeing..... especially women pop gum.
I guess I am the opposite, I have always had a purse, but I have never had a diaper bag.
Wallet
Mini Calendar
Cellphone
Pen
Chapstick/compact powder/lip gloss (or mini make-up bag)
Gum
Keys
Sunglasses
Change purse (I usually only keep this for those stupid claw machines/mechanical merry go rounds for my kid)
Aspirin
Ipod
Hairbrush
Kleenex
Those are the basics sometimes I carry my nintendo DS if I have a long wait somewhere (keeps me and the baby occupied).
When the baby was younger, I would put a few diapers, a thin wipes container, and a bib all in my purse too. =)
hairbrush, wallet, perfume, small makeup bag, a few diapers tucked away in the hidden pocket with a ziploc baggie with a few wipes in it., a caribiner (its like a metal clasp thing i use to help hold grocery bags., my keys, my phone, coupons, sunglasses.
When my husband is in town, his phone, keys glasses and wallet as well, a little flashlight, sometimes a sippy cup and baby shoes.
and actually my purse is quite small,,,,,,,,,,,i couldnt live without it!
Wow that's amazing. I couldn't imagine life without a purse. I have a notebook, makeup bag, pencil bag (for school), my items for my cycle nicely disguised in a cute little zip around pouch. Then I have my over-sized wallet, keys, gum, lip gloss, phone, checkbook, tylenol, lotion, kleenex. I used to have baby wipes for the kids. I have hand sanitizer, baby powder, room freshener (some bathrooms stink really bad). Those are just the things I can think of, often times I end up having snacks or toys lodged in the corners of my purse.
All of those little things I just mentioned I purchase from say a target or walmart from the travel section. The larger the purse, the more I try to stuff in there.
Wallet, book, copies of important insurance papers (medical, car, etc.), hand sanitizer, keys, work identification badge, ibuprofen, cell phone, kleenex and my glasses case (complete with cleaning cloth and cleaning spray). I can't stand the fact that I have to lug a purse around, so I make sure that it's barely big enough to fit a paperback novel and make everything else fit around it. I'm a fan of multiple compartments...a place for everything and everything in its place.
I try to clean it out weekly to cut down on paper clutter (receipts and such), but I'm not very good at that resolution.
If you've gone this long without a purse, I wouldn't bother picking up the habit, unless you're one of those people that plops a pile of personal belongings on the checkout counter and holds up the line trying to grab everything along with your purchase when you're done. In that case, I would encourage you to get a small handbag to make life easier to carry around.
Some women put a lot of stock in their designer bags. The best purses I've ever gotten have been cheap-y Walmart handbags. They're indestructible. My mom and sister got me a Coach bag once which broke by the end of the first week. [eyes rolling] THAT was a huge waste of money! But, my sister swears by her Louis Vitton handbag and considers it a prized possession. To each their own, I guess!
Have fun!
