Hi ladies! My husband and I just found out that we are pregnant with our second child. We are completely thrilled as we have been trying for a little while now.
My question is regarding symptoms. This time around seems to be different from when I was pregnant with my son. It seemed like last time I was sick from around 4 weeks and on. I had definate triggers that would make me ill as well. This time around it's not like that. I do have some transient nausea, but nothing like last time. I have also had a little cramping. The nurse told me that it was normal as long as I wasn't bleeding, which I'm not. It would be really helpful to hear some experienced from moms who have already done this and made it through. I'm about 5 weeks along. Thanks for your help!

I have had 3 children and all three pregnancies have been different. first one-extremely tired, second-off & on nausea, lost a twin and extreme migranes, third-nauseated for 3 months and then totally awesome pregnancy. So all that to say, it can vary so much. Enjoy this blessed time of your life. :)

Hi Shannon,

Congratulations! I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my second and so far, it seems to be just about the same as my first pregnancy. I have been a little nausious, but have been able to keep it in check by eating a little bit every few hours. My breasts are very tender (and have already perked up considerably! I don't complain much about that one). The only thing that I've noticed this time around is that I am just totally exhausted all of the time. It doesn't matter how much I sleep, I can hardly function. I have a 22 month old daughter and so I have to keep up with her, but when I was pregnant with her, I worked 60 hours per week and I don't remember being this tired. I think every pregnancy is different, so I don't know if anyone can tell you how yours will be. For the first trimester, just try to get hubby to help out around the house as much as possible and sleep when you can. Beyond that, you'll just have to take things as they come. I'm sure you're gonna have a great pregnancy! I know how excited I am and I'm sure you are too, so just enjoy it.

:-)

pregnancy can be like night and day from your 1st to your 2nd! i know someone who had morning sickness every day with her first and none with the 2nd! the only thing i noticed right away with my 2nd was that i started showing a lot sooner b/c my skin was already stretched out from the 1st, so i had to start wearing maternity clothes alot sooner.

As you can tell by everyone's comments, each pregnancy is different. My first I had no symptoms. Easiest pregnany ever. The second, nausua ALL the time, tired, CRAVINGS like CRAZY! The people down at the local gass station got to know me pretty well cause my worst one was Pizza Hot Pockets and peanut M&M's. LOL

Hi there !
I have had 2 children & both my pregnancies were different.
My 1st child I had no sickness, no nothing, I had a C-Section (my 1st was turned wrong, after 5 hours or more of labor) !!!
My 2nd child, I had no sickness either, but I bled really bad, but I did not loose my child, we possibly think that I was pregnant w/twins & lost one, my son was perfectly healthy !, but nobody could ever figure why I bled really bad ! So both my pregnancies were different. Good Luck !

With my first pregnancy, I had morning sickness the whole 9 months. Making it difficult to eat most days. I didn't have any nausea or sickness with my 2nd pregnancy. It was smooth sailing all the way. If your check ups are going great and your baby is developing like he/she should be, then be greatful that you don't have to go through this one as sick.

I'm expecting my second baby boy any day now. This pregnancy was WAY different from my first. I was less sick this time and sick at different times. My food cravings were less and I had different food preferences. I haven't had any Braxton-Hicks contractions, like the with the first, but did/do have mild cramping after 38 weeks. The cramping in the beginning is probably your body making room. I think I had the feeling like I was going to menstruate but then never did, obviously.

Side note: you may be more tired this time b/c you're keeping up with a 2 y.o. Take it easy when you can, nap and sleep often, and remind your hubby to rub your back and feet occasionally. The pampering tends to be neglected the second time around. I hope you enjoy your pregnancy!
