Get a stool sample and take her to the doctor.
Probably pin worms - they are very common.
But you need the right diagnosis in order to get the right medication to get rid of them.
AND there's potential she could pass it on to other family members.
Get to a doctor and then follow instructions.

Never knew a 12 year old who examined their poop for barely visible bugs before so I am not sure where to go with this answer.

These are great questions for your child's doctor. I am sure that if something unusual were coming out of a person's body, the doctor would want to know about that.

Welcome to mamapedia!!

Do you live in America or abroad??
Have you traveled outside the US (if you live in America) to a place that has parasites in the water?

Put saran wrap on the toilet set (with little bit of give) and have her poop on it to get a stool sample. Take it to the doctor and have it examined.

Obviously, take her to the doc.
Might also be worth your while to catch some 'stool' in a clean airtight container to bring with.

Did you expect we would recommend an OTC worming treatment?

Geesh.

If they were "barely visible," how did she happen to see them? It's extremely rare for anyone to look that closely at their poop.

I suggest it's likely she saw bits of food. I would have her poop into a clean disposable sort of container, such as a cottage cheese, sour cream sort of container and look for yourself.

I also doubt they are worms. They usually cause a very uncomfortably itchy rectum. If they are visible, they move around.

If you see something that looks out of place in her poop, make an appointment with the doctor on Monday. If she has other symptoms such as an itchy bottom, digestive difficulties, abdominal pain or weight loss, take her to the doctor even if you don't see anything.

Could your daughter be anxious enough to examine her poop? If so, talk with her about how she's feeling and why she looked through her poop.

Did you see them? I'd start there.

Obviously we're all going to say worms. I can't think of any other bug you would poop out.

Doctor will be able to help you.

I would ask her to drink some prune juice and to let me know when she had to poop so that I could determine what it is and if it needs immediate attention.

If I couldn't see anything when she went this time then I'd call the doc on Monday and ask them to have the doc's nurse call me. They can have you come by and pick up a poop test, she goes, then wipes with it, then puts the wipe in a container, then takes it back to the doc's office.

If there is something in it that is alive or moving or looks like bugs you can bet I'm going to scoop it out and put it in a zip lock bag and go to the ER. Not serious enough, I know, but I would want them to sent it off for testing as soon as possible.

This is a doctor appointment situation. They may ask her to collect a sample at home to bring in, or might take a culture in the office to test for parasite activity.
