Hi A.,

I've read the other responses on baked goods and there are potential licenses and so forth that you would need. I would contact the Health Inspectors and get information from them. But, as for the craft items you should have a friend or group host a party and invite people to purchase your items. This will give you a great way to test your market and your product as well. Offer to book other parties from that one. This will help get your name out there. Make business cards, labels etc. for your products so your customers can contact you to order more or for warranty issues ( which you need to decide how you will do this... ex: exchanges only before 30 days). After you have tested your market and your product and are satisfied then you need to decide how you want to sell either online by your own website, ebay, retail store, or sell to other stores..

Good luck in your venture....

Just wanted to let you know you may have trouble with selling the baked goods (and with potential litigation)unless you can get your kitchen approved by the state health dept. They have a lot of rules - I believe no pets, special sinks etc. Otherwise you would have to rent a commercial kitchen, which is usually too expensive. I've looked into this before and the regulations make it just too hard for a small-time baker. Hopefully, you'll be able to do something with the crafts though - maybe start out on EBay and see how it goes.

Hi A.-
Why dont you try selling things on EBAY?? That is where I go for custom made outfits..Otherwise go to baby boutiques and ask them to selll your stuff in them?? Also, make up a website and sell them online also so when you sell things at a store or EBAY they can directly to your website !!!!
Also, for the baked goods why dont you try going to bakeries around the area and asking to put your baked goods in there stores?? Just a thought..Good luck,
M.
