I would like to know if anyone knows what product I can use to clean the top part of a built in microwave. I guess from frying, grease accumulates on top of the microwave. I have tried degreaser and can't seem to get the grease out. Can anyone please give me some good advise.
Thanks,
R.

Honestly, I just use 1/4 pine sol and 3/4 water to clean everything in my kitchen, including the built in microwave. Dawn is an excellent at getting grease off of pans, so it might work too if there's a lot.

So you are talking about the outside top of the microwave right? The best degreaser I found was Biokleen's Cleaner and Degreaser. I use it undiluted and put a layer of it on the grease and let it soak for 10 minutes and then it wipes off pretty easily. The natural enzymes work wonders!

have you tried vinegar? you can try it straight, diluted with warm water, or you can make a paste (I use the paste for my bathroom and it cuts easily through dried toothpaste gunk and soap scum).... you make the paste by putting baking soda in a cup, then slowly pour in the vinegar-- do it over a sink because it will erupt like a volcano--then let the foam settle and use the paste, then wipe clean with a damp cloth/paper towel

both the baking soda and vinegar are safe to use in the kitchen, unlike greese cutters and other chemicals I wouldn't want touching my food

Magic Erasers (Mr. Clean) work well for me in the microwave. They seem to be able to clean just about anything.
