My husband AND my kids sit on the couch and eat sauerkraut right out of the jar. Just thinking about it gives me the shudders for some reason! :)
I am very lucky that my guy is NOT a picky eater (I am, but I'm also the cook, problem solved).
He does, however, snack on some of the weirdest stuff!!
Mayo and tabasco sauce on ritz crackers.
Heart of palm (not too weird) or canned asparagus, RIGHT from the can.
OH, and he'll sit down with an entire, unpeeled cucumber, and put some Toasted Asian Sesame dressing on it, take a bite, add more dressing, take a bite... Dude, that whole cucumber could have been shared amongst us ALL!
Sardines in Louisiana hot sauce (I make him eat these OUTSIDE, the smell makes me queasy!! And now he's got the kids eating them EW EW EW!!)
There's a whole bunch more, but I'm just wondering... do YOUR husbands eat any really off the wall stuff??

Fried bologna (must be thick slices) mixed in with canned Bush's baked beans. I get shivers thinking about it. Thankfully, this is an infrequent delicacy.
hey... that all sounds like good stuff to me! LOL My ex used to eat raw bacon chunks in mustard... and raw onions. Gross
Uncooked Ramen noodles- he sprinkles the seasoning on as he goes :)
Soy sauce on EVERYTHING (eggs, salad, biscuits and gravy, mash potatoes, chips, spaghetti, the list is endless)
Dehdrayded pork (his mom makes it)
Veggie cream cheese instead of sour cream on tacos
He basically likes any odd flavor combos...I never know what he might be snacking on after I doze off at night. I usually find the remnants on the kitchen counter when I wake up the next morning teehee
Ha! Those are some pretty weird things...
My MIL used to tell my DH that he'd never find a wife as picky as he is.
Guess what, MIL??? Enter: me!
Really he's not that picky...she is just a horrible cook. :)
The weirdest thing he eats (that I can think of): any berry flavored yogurt w/ peanuts in it. Yech! Not too horrid, but not my cup of tea.
Miracle whip and peanut butter sandwiches - loves them. he had me try one, the miracle whip is sweet like jelly would be I guess. he now has one of his coworkers eating them too!
I don't know how strange these are but my husband eats uncooked pasta and he will just cook ground beef and eat it with nothing on it (well, he salts it) or without comprising a meal using the ground beef.
I saw your title and immediately thought of the sardines and hot sauce - he loves it and while not weird, I can't stand it and, Yes, he goes outside or eats when I am not home (of course I can still smell those little suckers- LOL).
My husband cannot eat anything without a condiment. Not only that, but he's a complete "condiment snob" and is has to be the "right condiment" for the right food.
Oh well... good thing we have a decent sized pantry!
Well...not really. He's the pickiest of the 3 of us. He will not eat cheese of any kind.
And I'm surprised he eats anything considering his mom is just about the worst cook in the world.
BUT there's O. thing he does that drives me batty....it's like a ritual. Ritz crackers, jar of Jif and a butter knife. It's like he PAINTS the peanut butter on cracker after cracker. I can't even watch it. It's my cue to leave the room.
My husband is swedish so alot of things he's eaten over the years have made me go ick! from caviar in a tube sucking it right out, eggs with a heaping scoop of mayo on top with a raw shrimp, redcabbage (saurket like), to baked potatoes with sardines. I love him, i've tried to eat it, but hey its his thing, he can have it. :)
It's not what my husband eats but how he eats it. He takes a slice of bread, rolls it into a little ball with this hands (sometimes unwashed), and then pops it in his mouth. It completely disgusts me, as I know there are probably all kinds of dirt and germs in the creases of his hand. Ugh. And now he has taught my son this disgusting trick. I think I just lost my appetite. lol
My husband doesn't eat weird things per se, but he always suggests weird side dishes that don't go with the meal. Like we'll be having spaghetti and he wants potatoes on the side, or corn... Weird :)
Also, if it were up to my husband to do the cooking, we would be living on a diet of beans, eggs, and hot dogs. LOL.
my hubby is pretty normal in his eating habits. we are on a tight budget so he asks before eating anything because he doesnt know if i need it to make a dinner. but i did have a room mate who would eat raw ground beef with garlic salt...NASTY!

I don't know if it's off the wall in Mexico..but it's off the wall to me!!!
Brains
Tripe
Pig Skin ( I think it's called pork rinds) I make him eat that outside...it makes me want to hurl
He loves hard boiled eggs with rice. Not gross, just a wierd combo
L.
oh gosh ya'll are making me gag with all this nasty food! haha
My hubby likes to torture himself with the hottest hot sauce available. He douses everything in Blazing Sauce from buffalo wild wings, and once ate 3 whole ghost chilis without even flinching. I despise spicy food and I hate whenever he cooks because EVERYTHING has to have hot spices in it or he doesn't like it. My 2 year old is turning into him! yesterday the two of them sat down and ate a whole bag of tortilla chips with a whole can or Super Hot sauce in one sitting. Spicy food already doesn't bother my toddler!
canned smoked oysters (outside only). Pickled herring in cream sauce.
Fried pumpkin & squash blossoms...if he can find them.
Ponnis (sp?)...not sure how it's spelled! But you cook pork neck bones, etc in a broth with celery & carrot, s&p, etc. Then you add cornmeal, stir, & pour into a loaf pan. Bake for ??? & then slice it & fry it in butter. Some of the family uses syrup on it....some use ketchup. ugg....I haven't tried it yet & don't know if I will!
Spinach & fried egg noodles. Boil some chunked potatoes, drain the water off (for the most part), add a can of spinach. Let simmer.
In the meantime, boil frozen egg noodles til tender. Drain & then fry until crisped on the edges in lots of butter.
Place the fried noodles on your plate & pour the spinach/tater mix over it. Add lots of S&P. I will say this is quite tasty....just really weird! & so bad for you....with all that butter.
Oh, & I don't do Bambi! My DH & sons love venison chili & other.... BUT not me!
Chili made from ground beef & ground beef heart. Another weird, but tasty item. He also grinds the celery, onion, etc for this chili....so it's very paste like with lots of beans added in.
He & my sons LOVE smoked cabbage. We do it on the grill or in the smoker. Cut the head into 1/4s.....place on a piece of foil. Add butter, garlic, & S/P. Smoke until tender. I will admit this is excellent...especially with smoked meats or a fish fry!
Sandwiches made from fried bologna & eggs. Yuck...
Good question!
Mine is pretty picky, so nothing weird for him. I do have one weird thing to add to the list. My mom used to eat peanut butter and onion sandwhiches. BLECH!
My ex used to eat Salami, but he would eat the white stuff arond it, he would also eat cucumbers and balsamic vinegar and I thought that was pretty gross.
Potato rolls, chips, garbage. It's not what he eats-it's what he doesn't eat-like- no salad-that makes it so weird. The worst part is-he is bone thin(???) Go figure.
I'm weird eater in our house.
I'll quite happily sit down with a tub of shredded parmasean cheese and a spoon. YUM!
Also a big fan of Bacos by the handful.
I like Maple and Brown sugar oatmeal packets....just the dry mix.
I also discovered the joy of beef bullion and dill pickles.
Hmmm, guess I like salt! :)
He doesn't eat anything wierd but he does put away problaby a POUND of candy every night! he's recently trying to give it up...fingers crossed!!!
I dont know if it is really weird but my husband cant eat anything that is not spiced to the max, like a hamburger had to have thirty different spices in it, you cannot taste the "meat" in anything he cooks. I love a good steak but I will not let my husband touch them or they just taste like all the bazillion spices he thinks they must have.
He'll mix a can of tuna in just about anything. Gross!!!
There's things he eats but they aren't weird, just smelly.
On the other hand my dad is a retire fire fighter and remember seeing some of the disgusting things he would eat at work. I think they had contests to see how disgusting they could get but most of the time that's what they ACTUALLY ate normally. YUCK!
