Haiku by Avon. I've actually had a college age guy stop, ask me what it was and made up a haiku poem right there on the spot for me! lol I've gotten sooo many compliments when I wear it! :)
I'd love to buy a bottle of perfume but get so overwhelmed when shopping for it. I'd love to know what your favorite perfume is and why. Thanks!
Haiku by Avon. I've actually had a college age guy stop, ask me what it was and made up a haiku poem right there on the spot for me! lol I've gotten sooo many compliments when I wear it! :)
Holy Smoke Oil by Caswell and Massey--- but it's been discontinued! I'm stretching my bottle of it as far as I can. I prefer essential oils to perfume.
I like light fragrances. I used to wear Clinique's Happy. I don't wear perfumes much any more because so many people I know are allergic to them. I guess CLEAN is a fragrance...?
I have some hand cream from Hoity-Toity that I like - I get to enjoy it but the fragrance isn't powerful and doesn't last very long. That seems to work. I especially like Lavender/Vanilla.
P.S. Did I just read from another commentator that there's a company named CLEAN that puts out fragrances? Had no idea! :^)
30 years ago, before I developed life-changing sensitivities, I loved White Shoulders.
Today, I love no scent at all. I'm grateful for the responses that show an awareness of sensitivities. When someone wearing lots-o-scent sits near me in a movie theater or restaurant, I'm the one who has to move or leave, because it is not considered polite to comment negatively on someone else's smell. But wearing perfume strong enough to scent an area beyond arm's length is not polite. Thanks to all who recognize this.
I stopped wearing perfume about 10 years ago.
I also don't like it when others wear it. it really bothers my nose.
I like the One by Dolce. My grandson picked it out and it works with my body chemistry. This is one of the perfumes that I have purchased more than three bottles in the last three years or so. It is not cheap but it is not overly expensive in my thinking. It is just different a kind of clean and soft scent.
To each his own. The others I like are White Linen and Cinnabar but it is not in production any more and I became allergic to it.
the other S.
My favorite more expensive is Chanel No 5. My favorite cheaper is Jovan Musk.
None. I'm very sensitive to fragrances
Ysatis by Yves St. Lauren. the scent changes with me. it's not overpowering...
Opium. VERY STRONG scent...apply LIGHTLY...I love the musky smell of it.
Cheap but nice? Imari by Avon...mixture of Ysatis and Opium - in my opinion...
Good question! I love love love Champs Elyse, it is a high end one that you have to get at Nordstrom/Macy's type store. However, this scent doesn't do much for my body chemistry and loses it appeal. So, I don't wear it.
My husband loves Exclamation! from the 1990s and its still around. I could take it our leave it, but he really likes it.
I wear Beautiful (the original only) from Estee Lauder. This is light, floral-ee and reminds me of happy spring and sunshine. I think most everyone will smell good in this, but I don't know for sure.
My mom used to wear Opium, but she and I both became allergic to it, so now she just looks at the container on her dresser :(
Maybe go get a sample or two and try them out for a few days and see what you like. Good luck!
Arabian Oud oil. I like musky scents.
I have to be very careful with my perfumes because I am allergic to so many things. I also try to be careful when wearing my perfume because I know some people are highly sensitive to scents. I like something that is clean and fresh smelling..
My current favorite is Cartier. It is the new one that came out last Spring. I was walking our of Neimans when a lady gave me a sample and I loved it. I took it home and kept it close to me all night to see if I would have a reaction. I did not have a reaction so I went back and purchased it. I LOVE this scent.. so fresh and clean. It is not cheap but I love it and it does last a long time.
I also like the Pure Grace by Philosophy... very fresh and clean (Sephora)
Another favorite is an entire line by Clean... you can get fresh laundry scent, soap and water, .... very nice line. (Sephora)
I mainly stick to scented body wash, lotion, and spray. I do have a few but very rarely do I put them on.
I do however always have my pheromone perfume from Pure Romance. It is different on everyone and fits your body chemistry. Like others have said it may smell nice in the bottle but the way it reacts with your body can make it smell different.
My favorite changes often, but right now it is "Sweet Pea" from Bath and body works. I like the soft sweet sent it gives.
i love scents! i try to be minimalist with 'em when i go out as SOOO many people are allergic these days (and my sons told me at one point 'mom, you smell great, but it's way too strong, you make our eyes water' and i was very grateful for their honesty), but i can't give up fragrances.
it's hard to choose for someone else, though. body chemistry drastically alters how perfumes smell on different people.
i don't like anything food scented. vanilla and cinnamon are awesome for baking, but not for humans. i do like florals, and sometimes just go with a drop of rose or oleander essential oil. a single drop will cover all the pulse points. if the ol' man and i are going out on the town (admittedly rare) i like elizabeth taylor's passion, or estee lauder's beautiful. sometimes i'll go with anais anais (lovely light floral) or beyond paradis. in winter i like more exotic spicy scents like amber and frankincense.
i also have essential oils (right now balsam fir and cinnamon) in the kettle on the wood stove, and burn scented candles pretty much every evening.
not a house for the fragrance-averse.

S. (don't get me started on the shrine incenses.........)
Hanae Mori - mixture of vanilla and floral scents - available at Nordstrom
In college I used my guy roommates Obsession. I loved the scent. It also didn't give me a headache.
When I bought perfume for myself way back when I bought Heaven Scent or Tempo from Avon or Opium. They never bothered me when I was younger.
I'm allergic to perfume now but when I wasn't, I liked Chanel No 5. The only fragrances I can wear now are some body sprays or lotions from Bath & Body Works...I like Juniper Breeze & Moonlight Path.
Pure Grace by Philosophy. It is light and clean, I don't like anything floral or heavy.
I LOVE perfume, my favs are Coach Poppy Flower (with the purple bow on the cap), Coach Poppy Blossom (the one with the orange flower on the cap), Coach Legacy, Chanel Chance eau tendre, DKNY Be Delicious. These are the ones on my dresser right now and I get compliments on all of them all the time. They are all very light and nice scented not heavy musky smelling. I have never had a problem with wearing them and them bothering anyone.
I'm pretty sensitive to smells, but I love the idea of having a signature scent. Certain perfumes make me think of certain people, and I like to imagine people thinking of me when they smell a specific fragrance.
Once upon a time, my favorite perfume was Black Pearl by Elizabeth Taylor. I used to get so many compliments on it. They have since changed the formulation to something less expensive. It smells mostly the same, but it's a little more astringent than the original.
I have violent allergic reactions when I smell other people wearing perfume. Be prepared for some people to keep their distance from you.
Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfigler (sp?) Not a very overpowering scent but I do get a lot of compliments on it. You can get it pretty much anywhere and it's not overly expensive.
I'm allergic to perfume too but before I was allergic I used to wear Beautiful, Soul and Lucky. I know wear bath and body. My favorites are Amber Blush, Paris, Japanese Cherry Blossum. They discontinued my favorite Cherry Blossom, Plumeria and Juniper so I get these when they have the mid year sales.
I like scents from Origins--especially Ginger Essence.
I prefer body sprays. I think perfumes are typically too strong and often make me sneeze.
My hubby got me Jessica Simpson's perfume. I dont' know the name of it but it smells like cupcakes and is not too strong. I am not a mega perfume person.
