What Is the Best Way to Organize Larger Size Toy Trucks?

Hello Ladies,

I am trying to organize my house and my son's closet is driving me nuts. It has one shelf in it and his clothes that our on hangers actually touch the things that are on the shelf. My son has larger size toy trucks that he absolutely loves, but they are all piled on top of each other in his closet. He's not ready to give any of them up yet and I'm looking for the best way to organize them. Should I get a toy chest? Any suggestions would be great!

What can I do next?

I bought milk crates at Walmart and stacked those around my son's closet we called it the garage. We did that for two years. WE kind of walled in the bottom of his closet with them. I just got rid of all the crates for some Expedit shelves at Ikea that are perfect for the large trucks. I bought some drawers to store smaller trucks and other items. Both ideas worked well and both were inexpensive.

The milk crate idea by S B was great! We've also tried buying a small book shelf to "park" the trucks on. They don't seem to fare well in the toy bin. We've also been known to park them just under the edge of the beds in our boys' room. It's not as neat as a shelf or bin, but they are out of the way and easy for the boys to get to and put back.

He could use the entire bottom of the closet under the shelves as a parking lot for the large trucks. That way he can "drive them or push them in and make the beeping noise as he backs them out" They will look tidy down there.

One of my boys has a bunk bed, and the top bunk is used for toy storage. He has a lot of large Star Wars items.

If your son's room has wall space to do it, Install a shelf wide enough to accomodate the trucks and let him "park" them there. That way he can enjoy just looking at them when he's not actually playing with them.
