Help! I have a job interview (fingers crossed!) on Monday. I will be wearing a charcoal gray pant suit and low-heeled black pumps. Should I wear nylons with the pumps? If so, do I go with nude or a sheer gray/black nylons? The temps will probably be in the 40's on Monday. Thanks for your fashion advice! I haven't worn anything professional in more than 10 years.
Thanks everyone! I think I will buy a pair of nude nylon knee highs and a dark pair too. I'm guessing the nude ones will look a little more subtle. The shoes I am wearing are Joan and David kitten heels, and I think they will call attention to my feet. I don't want my ghostly white winter feet and ankles to be distracting.

I work in a fairly formal atmosphere with professionals who come visit us in suits. Nude hose isn't out... It can be very sheer vs a "tan" kind. I would go with that. Maybe if it was a black suit and black shoes would I wear very thin black trouser socks but nude hose to me looks dressier and more feminine. I wear trouser socks on casual days but nylons when I dress up and that is what I see on saleswomen who come in etc. I think either one is ok though.

I wouldn't wear hosiery at all with a pant suit, but maybe that's just me. I work in a pretty formal industry and wear dress pants and heels year 'round without any hosiery.
But if you're going to wear some, then nude trouser socks or even something in a sheer off-white would be fine.

Well, if you were here in Canada it wouldn't matter, you would be wearing boots.

I would wear nude knee highs. Nylons are fine, but knee highs are so much easier and more comfortable and, since they won't show, there's no reason to go with full nylons. Nude is better because you don't want it to show at all, the way it would with gray or black.

I hate wearing hosiery, and one of the greatest benefits of a pant suit is that you don't have to wear hosiery. Especially here in CA, it's really not expected.

Ditto the sheer trouser socks. Nothing says "old fashioned" quite like nude hose of any kind.

i guess i'm a fogey. i don't get the 'no hosiery' deal most women go for any more. if you have fantastic legs and a nice tan (probably spray-on in this sun-phobic generation<G>) it can work, but i think naked legs emerging from a business skirt are jarring.
but slacks? pppffftttt. why go to the trouble and discomfort of nylons with slacks? thin dark grey or black trouser socks would be your best bet.
good luck on the interview! i'm sure you'll rock it, whatever's on your feet!

I've always been taught to match the nylons/trouser socks as closely as possible with the pants and socks as possible. That way the color is more uniform from the foot to the waist.
Good luck with the interview!

Trouser socks as long as they will stay up. Nothing worse than a shock that continually rolls down around your ankle. If you prefer nylons then go for a darker color black or dark gray. Good luck on the interview!!!

I don't wear hose if I can possibly avoid it. Pumps with pants, no one is going to know if you have on hose.

I have always been told unless the industry expects hosiery as part of your daily attire, then you don't have wear any. If I had to pick hosiery to wear with a pant suit, I would go with knee highs in a neutral skin tone. I find colored hosiery of any type to be more suitable for after hours but that is completely personal opinion which I well know puts me in the minority of fashion. Good luck!

I cannot stand shoes (heels) with nothing--gotta have nude or sheer off black knee highs or nylons ( your choice, color & style). A liner is O. other choice but for an interview? Hosiery.
Only if they are open toe or open back skip the hosiery.

No hose. I'd wear a sock/hosiery sock with some sort of pattern and a closed toe shoe.

I always wore sheer skin color stockings for job interviews. Except one very hot day when I skipped hosiery. Got the job that time, too.
