That's a mistake you only make once. lol
That too away from home!! Can you push these things back home? Am talking about toddler toys, the battery operated ones .. motorized ride on toys.

We never went too far from home and just made sure they were fully charged first - but I've seen my husband shove our jeep around our shed. I guess you'd just push it back? Hasn't actually happened to us. We have lots of warning. Our jeep just kept slowing and made the whrrr whrrr sound when batteries are going.
ETA: if you're looking to buy one, just from my experience and the limited use we had with ours, I'd get a second hand one.
You can push them but it is not super easy. When the charge is low the car starts to slow down and you can tell the battery is dying. Our son used his gator pretty close to home so it wasn't a problem. Not sure I would take it on long walks.
I think that's a huge problem with these heavy, battery-operated toys. They are hard to move. They don't really provide any exercise or gross motor skills anyway, so they're of limited value, in my opinion. They're expensive, and you can buy many more fun things with the same money.
No, you don't push them. You leave them where they are when they die, and you walk home with the crying toddler, and you take the car and go get the toy with at least one other adult to help you lift it. Take heavy bungee cords in case you can't close the trunk or tailgate.
The same thing happens when you take a regular bike/trike though, and the kid gets tired - which happens all the time. The kids poop out and don't realize they have to get all the way home. My kid grew up before the riding toys all had handles on them for parents, so I had a length of rope with a loop at each end - I'd loop the rope around the handlebars or the steering wheel, and tow him home. If it was too much, I'd leave the toy in the neighborhood and go back later.
My friend keeps the big heavy battery in the garage and charges it on a battery charger. When her kids want to play on the jeep she carries it out and installs it in the car. It's really heavy...like a smaller real car battery. So, I would take the battery out and start charging it at your house. I guess push the thing home if it is possible...or when the battery is charged to put it in and drive it back home.
We had one for each of our kids when they were younger and they would ride them to grandma's house and I would walk (I needed to after surgery). They NEVER died on us because we would charge them every night so they were ready to go. I guess it's a good idea to plan ahead like that and don't risk it. JMO. Good luck.
You can push it home but it is not easy. We don't take these things on long walks. My son has one meant for a 2 yr old, not really big and heavy like the jeep or big cars that you can get for $200 or so. I can actually carry it but I won't let him take it if we walk to the park because I do not want to carry it home. Leaving it is not an option because when I get back, it WILL be gone.
