T.M.
Well...I have a whole school of goldfish in the seats and the floor boards. There is also an overabundance of pretzels and snack wrappers. Yes, I am ashamed.
Spin off from the bad mommy Q.
I never seem to have time to clean my car out. I should say clear, because actually, it is quite clean because I take it to the cleaners about once a month. But to do that I stuff everything in the trunk, then pull it back out again afterwards.
I am so embarrassed about my car, that I don't go through the pick up line anymore, I get out and walk to get my son.
I can't have passengers, the junk has actually got so high in the front, that it is spilling on to the seat. It is mostly toys, dirty clothes and towels, blankets, wrappers of different food stuff, empty drink bottles, books, newspapers etc.
It is bad, but I just can't carry stuff in and try to keep control of my 3 year old so she doesn't run off at the same time. (that's my excuse anyway!)

A messy car makes me nuts....I remove any garbage at least every other day. I just can't help it. I need my car to be clean and serene!
My car looks like graham crackers and Cherrio's mated and somehow produced Goldfish crackers.
OMG, my car is usually 'the dump'... juggling 3 kids, my purse, and groceries isn't a walk in the park, so I rarely bat an eye at the garbage that mysteriously accumulates in there... until the kids are like 'MOOOOM! I can't put my feet down, there's too much junk back here'... oops.
Worst case scenario: I was leaving the mall one time EXTREMELY frustrated with my son. There were 2 cops parked right behind me, just chatting or whatever. I put the baby in the car, threw my bags in there, talking to my son the whole time through the trunk as I'm struggling with the damn stroller.
As soon as I finally smashed the stupid thing in there, an empty glass scotch bottle flew out and bounced around on the ground. It was so loud, everyone shut up and stared. I yelled 'Oh GREAT!!' and sarcastic flung the damn thing back into the truck, slammed it, and got in and left.
So not only must everyone have thought I was talking to myself, but I looked like an angry drunk too!! I still to this day and NO idea why that scotch bottle was in there!!!
I drive a lovely (*smirk*) company provided Impala that is my office away from home. My huge trunk is full of crates with hanging files of literature to give to physicians. Unfortunately, my rear seat has four boxes of supplies (pap containers, chlamydia/gonorrhea urine containers, drug testing urine cups and herpes swabs) that will be delivered on Tuesday. Add my computer bag and stuff I carry every day it is full. I need to keep it as clean as I can since I travel with my account managers and clients (no trash, food containers...maybe one current Starbucks cup). Right now, only two people can fit in it though. I drove with my director for the first time last week and she said "wow, the car looks nice". I'm glad she was impressed.
My daughter is 18, has her own car and is pretty particular about how she keeps it as well. Yea, the fruit doesn't fall far from the bush!!
Both cars spotless, except for a bag going to Goodwill tomorrow morning.
Mine is actually close to spotless. There is a small bag of borrowed dress clothes that I have to return to someone and a few empty drink bottles tucked into the passenger door. Other than that, it's clean. I love it!
We got this car (an Odyssey) in July and I have managed to keep it clean since then. I just make sure that every time I get in it, I take everything out. Even if it's raining, dark, I have my hands full, etc. It'll be interesting to see if I can maintain this in the winter. I hope so, because it's so nice to be able to offer to drive and know that my car is already clean.
It's also nice to have no babies - I definitely didn't keep my other cars clean because I was always carrying a child to or from the car but now that my youngest is 5, that's not an excuse any more.
I have found that because I keep the car clean, the kids do to. They remind each other to take their sweatshirts or lunch boxes or toys that in the past, would have been left behind without notice.
All 3 cars which include 16 yr old daughters car spotless inside and out.
My daughter would not drive to school last week when her bumper was splashed. She cleaned the back with baby wipes until she was able to home and clean the car.
The inside of all interior and trunks are spotless. Cars are emptied daily for trash or for clutter clearing.
This was the norm when daughter was an infant and growing up to having her own car. Basic habit at our house.
I keep it pretty clean. It needs a good wiping down but it's so cold out now it's going to have to wait for a warmer day. Hopefully I'll be able to do a quick vac job before it snows too.
I get nuts if there's extra stuff left in my car other than a blanket to cover my son up.
I did move a trash can to my side of the driveway and tucked it in between the neighbors bushes so I can toss trash out as soon as I get out. Now my son wants to toss EVERYTHING out.
Trashed. I get lectures from DH all the time about the condition of my car. Almost all of it is kid related... art from daycare (she is VERY prolific), daily reports, snack wrappers a few lost cheerios and stuff, leaves and rocks (from playground/park collecting), pine needles (from our darn trees - ha evergreen... more like evershed).
Honestly I am just lazy. It takes all but ten, 15 minutes to clean it up and vacuum and my DD could even help... but it is cold out and I don't want to stand in the freezing or rain (or freezing rain) for 15 minutes to get it done.
I keep it up a little better in the summer... but not much. Stuff accumulates too fast and I don't have the motivation...
Bad car mommy, me!
Mine has empty water bottles and receipts all over the place, plus sunflower seed shells and a few empty candy bar wrappers. It would be easy to clean up, but alas... I have yet to do it.
Its a shame my car is a mess because we aren't in there all that often but don't look in there! You don't want to. Trust me!!
Ha! Snack wrappers several inches deep, newspaper and junk mail my son dragged in, receipts, crumbs, honey on the backseat, stained upholstery, the door next to my son's car seat is has stickers on it from all the stores and restaurants that give them out, recently I found lost hardware items from a trip to Home Depot in the cargo area. The front of the car looks ok, so I don't think about it most of the time. LOL!
I call my car 'the wheelie bin'.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
It has Protest signs ALL over....Blankets, coats...shoes, socks. Sippy cups and books.
A stroller, A radio Flyer plastic Wagon with removable canopy. Umbrella's and a dozen Poncho's.
I do not drive a ton. I take my oldest to school. My youngest to OT and Speech. And scoot around Tacoma for my Occupation LIFE.
So, anytime we are in the car, we are in it for a short period...Or living out of it for the day. We use it to warm up. TO play in when they need to have some quiet away time. Or for a quick trip. We use it hard when it is used.
It is messy. But it is mostly kids stuff. That we need, use or just for gotten.
I also have two boxes and a bag of stuff to take to Goodwill. It will happen eventually. I just have not thought about it, or gotten around to it.
Lol. My car looks SCARY right now. I bought some drain pipe extenders and stuff to caulk the home at Home Depot last week. The stuff is still in the car. In addition to that we picked up the Christmas wreath from my sons' cub scout wreath sale on Saturday. The ones that couldn't be delivered yet are still in there (and one of them is huge). Everything is littered with pine needles, there are some fast food wrappers, toys, books, CDs...It's pathetic. On the bright side, it smells really Christmasy in there right now.
OMG!! I have a Honda Pilot and the back of it is full of stuff! My son thinks it is a place for storage! I can't seem to keep up with it and it just keeps getting worse. I keep saying tomorrow I'll get everything out of there. Maybe today will be the day!
