My son is 10 weeks old, he was using the Avent bottle and nursing without a problem. I have left my son with my mother a couple of times in the last two weeks and he does not like the avent bottle. Does anyone have a suggestion on what bottles work best on breastfed babies? Also, I am returning to work soon, any suggestions on coolers to keep the breastmilk frozen or cool??

I searched forever for a bottle to offer through my company (I have a lot of pumping / working moms and they needed a good one the replicated the breast most closely). The only one that ever came close (and I even ship overseas) is the Mimijumi (BPA free, brilliant design).

I bought Medela bottles and nipples assuming they were the best. They were expensive and didn't look much different than the cheaper Evenflow ones. Both are BPA free. My son was breastfed for 1 year and had the occasional bottle, maybe 5 a week and was fine on the transition between breast and bottle.

Frozen - I bought the bags (Gerber made a nice one, but they're all basically the same) and filled the bags for about one meal's worth of milk. Froze it right away if possible. Cool - when I had to pump at work, I'd pump, put bottled milk in the cooler with those frozen ice packs. Then when I got a chance, would put it in the fridge and take it home that night for the baby to use the next day.

I send Avent bottles to school, at home we use BreastFlow by The First Years (http://www.learningcurve.com/breastflow) and we use Lanisoh milk storage bags (http://www.lansinoh.com/products/milk-storage-bags).

I love the bottles because they use the technology imitates that of the breast and she takes to it very well.

I love the storage bags because they lay flat and double zip to prevent spills. They also thaw rather quickly. I have never had one tear or break. Everyonce and a while Target will have the 50ct boxes on sale for half price. Major Plus!!

if your baby likes those bottles dont switch. your mother isnt the one drinking from them so i think she should deal in my opinion.

I Love the "MAM" brand bottles, which are also BPA free.
My son took these fine and he was breastfed.
I got them from Amazon.

I ended up trying almost every bottle at the store until I finally found the PLAYTEX DROP-INS. They are great. The nipples are bigger so they press against the babies face like your breast does. Plus they are super convenient because the breastmilk storage bags work great in the bottles and you don't have to buy the plastic drop-ins. Then the only part of the bottle you need to wash is the nipple. Also for storage I used the little freezer bag that came with my pump. Then I just bought a couple of those blocks you freeze and throw in your lunches. I used two so that both sides of the milk bag stayed cold all day.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

P.S. A little about me: I'm a stay at home mom for two beautiful children. I have a daughter who is 24 months and son who is 4 months.

I had to work backwards to get my bottle fed preemie from the hospital bottles to the breast and what really worked for us was the Playtex nurser with the slow flow latex nipple (the brown one). It's very, very soft just like the breast.

I also used the Gerber bags with the seal. Then I would place a couple of those in freezer baggies just in case something leaked it wouldn't make a huge mess. They had us do that when he was in the NICU. i only ever had one leak though!

My daughter was 6 weeks old when we first introduced the bottle. We had used Avent with our sons w/o difficulty. She wasn't having it at all. We tried the brand Tommy Tippee. It worked beautifully!! This brand is supposed to be the best for babies switching between breast and bottle. We haven't had any problems with the bottle thing since.
