one 7 year old son wants a trampoline
his twin brother wants a Squeenkie claw crane
14 year old daughter wants a new phone and gift cards to go do fun stuff she likes to do :-)
What are your kids requesting for Christmas presents? It's nice to hear what kids are thinking about. My kid wants a SECOND train! And colored clay!
Someone wrote wistfully about the days of Thomas the Train. Actually, my DD has asked for her second electric train. And we happen to live in a small house. She truly is interested in how mechanical things work, so it isn't so outrageous. I'm just trying to anticipate if this will become a collection--and if so, where it will go.

KindredSpirit, I remember how much fun it was to shop when I was buying Thomas trains and Crayola kits and Polly Pockets :)
My 17 year old has asked for things for her dorm room for next year and the game Apples to Apples.
My 13 year old requested a wireless mouse/keyboard, new watch, gift cards to Starbucks and Dunkin, a swiss army knife.
My boys are older now and they want expensive things. I miss the 10.00 grabs at Walmart & Target and they were perfectly happy :( This year is an iPad Mini and Black Powder Revolver.
My two year old wants AN IPAD!!!! (my son has one, but he is autistic) but we're getting her a toy kitchen, with the food, and the pots and pans and things.
My six year old wants everything zombies, plants vs. zombies, he loves it. We actually made our Xmas tree a Jack Skellington tree. He LOVED it. We got him a monster fighters lego set and a plants vs zombies plush.
Both of them wanted Wii U, and that is all the are getting. I love when they are old enough to understand mom buys the gifts. :)
16yo son: a new car stereo for his vintage ride. Gma already bought the speakers, & it turns out the issue lies in the original head unit in the car. He's freakin' because he was determined to keep the car as "original" as possible. I told him to throw the old one in a box....so it's available to the next owner. This would be the ride which is sitting outside while he drives my SUV to school since his car is frozen shut........yep, the "original" rubber strips on the t-tops froze to the windows! LOL
Adult son: are you Mamas ready for this? It's a total gut-buster! (sigh)
Ruger 40mm
bonsai tree
Ruger 40mm
lg-sleeve winter shirts
Ruger 40mm
more books adding to the series he's reading
Ruger 40mm
a specialized meat tenderizer
Ruger 40mm
& on & on..... I refuse to buy the Ruger. He's getting the other stuff. :)
the little boys in my daycare are requesting a lot of SuperHero toys. Capt America, Hulk, etc. The 20mo girl is clueless. & the 5yo KG'r (girl) is asking for everything....a phone like "mom's" & another dollhouse (she has one already).
Fun question! Thanks!
the new WII U!! and anything green bay packer or saints items!!
Adult son? A shopping spress when he comes to visit long distance. In return I asked him to being me some paackaged food specialties that I can only get from home.
A Thomas Cranky, a Tablet, Fairies and My little pony.
11 year old - All she wants is The American Girl Doll McKenna
6 year old - Brave (the movie & the toys)
5 year old - Anything and everything Minnie Mouse & the American Girl Bitty Baby Changing table for her baby)
American girl doll stuff
15 yr old son: games for Xbox and Shawshank Redemption on DVD.
11 yr old daughter: sewing machine and a dress form so she can start her fashion design career, watercolor paints.
10yr old daughter: a telescope, the 2012 Holiday Barbie to add to her collection, a sketchbook and wooden human and hand forms to practice her drawing.
SO glad that, apart from the Barbie, they're getting away from toys. We already have WAAAY too many toys in this house!
My 5 year old DD asked Santa for a Merida dress with a bow & arrow. Easy enough. She also wants one of everything she's ever seen on a commercial... LOL. She's getting 3 new Leap-pad games, some Polly pocket stuff (she LOVES this stuff!), a couple of DVDs I found at the 2nd hand shop, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White costumes, and a few misc. small things. She's such a girly girl and so much fun to buy for I have to force myself to stay away from the girl toy isles for fear of going COMPLETELY overboard on her!
My 20 month old DS is getting a Cozy Coupe from Santa, and from us a couple of trucks/tractors, a remote control John Deere, a tool set, a Fisher Price radio, and some matchbox cars. Most of the cool stuff is still a bit too old for him - next year will be more fun I think!
I also got them a small folding table with chairs off of craigslist so they can color/eat/play in the living room sometimes but I can put it away when we don't need it out.
Both my boy and my girl are legomaniacs. (It might just be hereditary...) Star Wars legos!
Video games, books and Lego.
12 yo son wants the new Surface computer...we said no. Already told him so there is no disappointment on Christmas. We did get the Kinect xbox thing which he had mentioned before the Surface request. He also wants a James Patterson book. Other than that, he told me to get creative, lol.
16yo daughter just wants iTunes and Forever 21 gift cards. She is getting tickets to Maroon 5, and also had an early gift of a ticket to the Jingle Ball concert.
From Santa: 9 yo wants an over/under shot gun (he is getting a single barrel, though) so he can duck hunt with daddy. He also asked for an assortment of wii games
5 yo met with santa on saturday and blew my mind - his letter said "costume, playmobils, knigt sets" he talks to santa and says "laptop" - What?! You are 5 - no laptop for you - lol. I believe my husband broke yesterday and got him a 3ds. . .sigh.
Skylanders are a big thing for my kids right now as are legos, legos and more legos.:)
my daughter (5) requested and is getting (from us and other family members)-
monster high high school (santa)
monster high dolls
giant flying shark
legos
hello kitty trash can
books
art set
la la loopsy pirate doll
cookie monster
bell dog (girl jingle)
angry birds game
board games
clothes
easy bake oven
movies (brave snow buddies)
and i believe thats it... there could be more... most of this stuff is bought from my inlaws down in california. i told them not to go hog wild because of shipping but they do what they want lol... i cant wait to see her face light up...
with all she is getting this year i also make sure that she picks out 3 toys for toys for tots (a boy girl and infant toy) then we also buy something that is hung on the giving tree at walmart or the mall.
DD is 5 and wants an American Girl doll, the Bubble Guppies game for her Nintendo DS and the original Twister. OK, fine, at least it's stuff I can actually buy because it actually exists. Sometimes she asks for things that don't exist, like a big treasure chest that opens up with a bunch of little treasure chests inside, and inside those are real gold and jewels. Or a book that has stickers inside of it and a button on the back that plays music.
I just keep telling her that Santa and Mommy and Daddy can get her some of the things she wants - we can't do it all. But I also remind her that sometimes she gets things that we all know she will like, even if she hasn't thought of it.
Nintendo 3ds (yes, we do not have one)
Super Mario 3d land game for Nintendo 3ds
Angry Birds things
The North Face apparel
My daughter is 16 so it's mostly music and books. But her big wish is Maroon 5 tickets. I still haven't decided if she's getting them yet, I can't go, and the only adult I know willing to take her isn't sure she can go yet so I wait...
DD 5 wants Monster High stuff
DS 3 wants Mighty Machine stuff ?? I got him construction trucks
DS 9 IDK he asked for a Wii U (no) 3ds (already has a ds so no) a computer (no) pokemon stuff, Beyblade stuff (which he does not play with). He will be the least happy this year as he is in a weird stage between toys and tween stuff.
My 8 year old wants an iPhone (Ha! Keep dreaming!), my 5 year old wants a pogo stick and he's been asking for one for months, my 2 year old justs asks for a candy cane since that's what Santa gave him when he saw him. Know that I think about it, I still need to get a candy cane for his stocking. Just when I thought I was done. :)
There weren't a lot of requests this year, honestly. The one thing my 7 year old asked for was this cheap fishing set (not real fishing...it was a plastic figurine in a boat with some plastic fish and a little plastic pole.) I checked it out and it was really cheap and looked like it would fall apart, plus you couldn't do much with it...I know this toy would get played with for a day and then lost forever, so I didn't get it. What a scrooge.
What I did get for my 7 year old (girl)...two DS games and a Wii game (two I-Spys and Garfield), a bunch of classic books (Robin Hood, 20,000 Leagues, etc, she loves that stuff), a jewelry box with a future promise of buying her her first real ring in January, a pair of flowered jeans, and a flip video camera that I found NEW for 11 dollars. Oh, and 2 lego friends sets.
My two year old is getting Alphie (the robot toy) plus some booster cards, a M&D Sushi playset where you can really "cut" (velcro) the sushi, etc, lots of books, a Cinderella "baby" doll, and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates t-shirt.
3.5 year old wants Legos, he hasn't deviated from that since about May or June :)
My 3 & 4 year old's want an airplane, crane truck, remote control monster truck, train, a grader truck, a garbage truck, and a spaceship. Notice a theme here, they're at a really fun age this year!
My son who is ten.. wants more "political books" and one on Egypt.. Also, money for the stock market................. :) ummmm <<<< not all wishes come true :) hahahah
Play dough
A dream lite
Something Hello Kitty
My (almost) 6 yr old drew his list for Santa this year. It was a picture of him, in a rocket, in outer space. Not sure that'll happen this year.
My 3 yr old asked for a t-rex toy, the Team Umizoomi counting car, and a Stuffees. Santa's bringing him the car, my brother's getting him a t-rex, but the Stuffees wont be happening this year.
The baby (20 mos) has no clue yet, he just loves to look at Christmas lights, so maybe I'll get him a mini tree to put in his room for now.
We gave the kids tablets in November during Thanksgiving Break because they were crazy nuts for a whole day. Hubby just couldn't take it anymore.
So now we don't have a fantastic gift to give them. Little man is asking Santa for a DS....okay, we've told him and told him that a DS is less fun than his tablet, because we have to buy each and every game that goes on it. A tablet is free, there is no buying of anything.
I keep telling him each and every time he tells Santa that is what he wants that I told Santa no, that he needs to think of something else.
He just sits there with a smug look on his face and says that Santa is bringing him one.
I keep telling him he needs to ask Santa for a new bike or something. He just looks at me and smiles. I don't know what we're going to do, we can't afford DS's, even used ones are over $100. Then the costs of the games. I just won't do it, even if they were half that price, the games eat up the money.
The granddaughter keeps asking Santa for a puppy, I ask her why she thinks Santa would give her one of his puppies since she won't clean her kitty's litter box and take care of the food and water part. I have even let her go without food until she has cared for this poor kitty's needs. She just wants a puppy now and that's it.
She won't be getting one, maybe a letter from Santa will tell her to work on her care-giving skills this next year and he'll see about letting her have one of his puppies.
So as of now I don't know what the kids are actually getting, I was going to have Santa bring new bikes but heck, if the kids are getting coal then I don't have to buy anything...lol.
My 5 and 7 year old boys are very into wrrestling now...so they want WWe toys. My 5 year old also wants some football stuff, he is a football fanatic like his mama! My 7 year old asked for the new Batman cave also.
My 9 year old asked for a bedroom makeover, which she is getting. We will get her new furniture in the spring.
They are also getting a cruise. My daughter keeps asking to go on a for real vacation (it's been a while since we have traveled and not had to be somewhere at a certain time (dance or weddings) and I've been in school). So they will be getting that as well :).
My five year old son wants Ninjago Legos.
