Oi vey for you!
I do want to say though, that my youngest brother was born with two cysts on his brain, and a hole in his heart. The hole had to be fixed, but the cysts both went away on their own, and he has never had any issues whatsoever from them... So don't worry too much about that!
For my crazy day, I would say it was in July. My husband woke up very early with a horrendous toothache... His entire face was swollen, so we made an emergency trip to the dentist. He wound up having to have one tooth pulled, and another drilled. Luckily, we had JUST gotten dental insurance... But the co-pay was still enough to sting quite a bit. Then, when we went to leave the dentist office we found that we had a flat tire... AND that our spare was flat! So, we got to pay for a tow truck and to fix both tires. We ran to Walmart to have Hubby's pain meds filled, and it took them TWO hours to fill the prescription! By then the office visit's medication had worn off, so he was hurting and grumpy. As we were waiting in line to pay for the pills, we got a call from my sister-in-law telling us that our 3 yo daughter had fallen off my bed, and hurt her elbow. So we go home, (around 2pm by this time...) and check on her. She had fallen out at 9am, and was still very tender, so we called her pediatrician for an appointment. (I though it must be a bruised bone, or wrenched muscle or something painful, but relatively minor.) she got an appointment for 4, so we spent the next couple hours trying to ice her elbow a bit and keep her comfortable. Then we get to the pediatrician, where we spent 45 minutes in the main waiting room, and another hour in the office before being seen by the doctor... Who, after hearing our story, poked around my daughters elbow a few times (causing her to scram in pain...) and diagnosed her with nursemaids elbow. She then proceeded to YANK her arm straight, twice, before I stopped her and told her I would take her to the ER instead. So we get to the ER around 6:30. We got to wait there, but at least THEY were relatively quick. We then had to get my daughter to cooperate for X-rays, (who, by this point, was extremely cranky from the pain and not eating all day, because we couldn't get her to eat through the pain.) It turned out hat she had a broken elbow! It was a Friday evening, so they were only able to splint her arm and give her a pain prescription. So we finally get home around 9:30 where I got the pleasure of preparing dinner for and nursing a broken toddler and drugged up husband.
On the plus side, they both went to sleep almost immediately after dinner, so I got a well-earned chance to actually read a book in a bubble bath!
