B.S.
I had abnormally long and heavy periods for my first few after the birth of each of my children. They went back to normal after a few cycles though. If it enough to concern you then I'd recommend contacting your OBGYN.
I had my son in November (first child) and have been breastfeeding. I just started my period back beginning of this month, and it won't stop! I'll go for about 5 days, slow down to almost nothing, and then start right back up again. I've always had very regular periods, so this is not normal for me. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm starting back since having a baby or if something else might be going on. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Your first period or twoafter you have a baby can be really odd. When I first started back up it was so heavy that I was going througha pad almost every two hours. They told me that it was normal for it to bereally heavy and strange at first. Of course if you worried always call you obgyn...that's why they are there...and they will get back to being somewhat normal...just remamber that your body is not the same...and you periods won;t be that same.
Amanda,
The same thing happened to me. I didn't have it for almost 6 months, then all of a sudden I had it for a month. It didn't go back to normal until I went on a special birth control pill made for breast feeding mom's.
Ask your OB/GYN - about a birth control pill you can go on while breastfeeding that won't dry up your milk that will regulate you period. That's what I did and it helped a lot. Then when I was done nursing at a year - I told her and she put me back on my regular birth control.
Hope this helps!
I would call your GYN and speak to them about it. I know that doesn't help much, sorry.
