Sounds like a gimmick. Look into JJ Virgin's plan. I'm coming off of a detox which I hope will jump start lasting weight loss for me and many of the people in my detox group are moving on to JJ Virgin's weight loss plan, which eliminates 7 key foods over several weeks.
My brother and sister have also had good results with the Shakeology/Team Beach Body program of detox, shakes and fitness. My brother lost 15 lbs of fat, gained some muscle, and lowered his cholesterol by 40 points over 6 months. He's working on another 12-15 lbs of weight loss to get to his ideal weight. One of my sisters lost 7 lbs in the fall, maintained through the holidays and lost another 6 in January. She's 40 and for the first time in her life, bikini ready (I'm jealous LOL). The nutrition program is very similar to what I did and uses up-to-date info (which is that sugar is the root of weight gain, so eliminate sugar and increase your fats). I didn't go with that program because I know that my issues were more hormonal (I gained weight AFTER each pregnancy) and thought that I would get better results with a hormone-based process first, so I pursued the Hormone Cure program and feel great. I lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks, which is a big deal for me and I hope is the start of something great.
Anyway...don't waste your time and money on shortcuts. Real weight loss is a matter of eliminating the foods that are causing inflammation and fat gain (sugar, including fruits, grains, dairy, which can be inflammatory, alcohol and caffeine, which can mess with your hormones) and adding foods that your body needs and loves - good fats such as avacados, clean meat, olives and olive oil, coconut oil, clean protein such as poultry and fish, and veggies, veggies, veggies.
