Try Gatlinburg or Chattanooga.
They both have aquariums. And are less than 4 hours.
Would like to take a weekend trip with the kids that is 4 hours or less from Nashville, Tennessee by car. Any suggestions?

Chattanooga has a lot of fun things for kids. The Aquarium is continuing to make improvements and expand. There is the IMAX theatre nearby. Signal and Lookout Mountain are close enough, to enjoy, too.
Hi, are you going in the summer? if so Dollywood, and gatlinburg are fun! there is lots to due, they have ripleys believe it or not museum, they have the aquarium, putt putt golf, skyline, shops, nascar cafe. lots of things to do. you can type it in the search engine to pull up more. and if you like dinner theaters for kids, they have several of them.
My number one choice for a place nearby is Chattanooga - if you stay near the Aquarium, it's great! They've finished the waterfront refurbishing and the Aquarium expansion. There's a children's museum too and we enjoyed Rock City (sounds cheesy, but was pretty cool). Mammoth Caves in KY is also good, as is Fall Creek Falls, but Chattanooga is my top choice! Hope that helps.
gatlinburg ,TN IT IS 3 TO 4 HOUR AWAY ITIS VERY NICE IT HAS A HUGE AQUARIUM THAT INCLUDE SHARKS YOU CAN EVEN RENT A CHALET THERE ITS LIKE A HOMW AWAY FRON HOME ALSO HAS DOLLYWOOD AMUSEMENT PARK
We go to Gatlinburg a lot! There is a great Aquarium and lots of fun shows and things for kids of all ages that's not too hard for the adults to handle also. The car trip is easy...around 3 1/2 hours and plenty of places to stop on the way. The mountains are great and if you like hiking, there are lots of places to go around in the state parks.
