Weekday Birthday Parties Vs. Weekend

Hello Ladies,

I am trying to plan a birthday party for my son's 6th birthday and am having a real hard time. I would so much rather do the party at my home but my husband does not want that. Which I can somewhat understand being that I just had a baby a month ago. Anyhow I am trying to find affordable alternatives and it seems it is a whole lot cheaper if you do it during the week. My question is, if I do it say on a Thursday, would you allow your child to attend if it is early enough and over by say 7-730 pm at the latest? We are not from Texas and this is his first birthday party since we moved here so I want to be sure others will attend.

Also if you have any other ideas as to where to have it that won't cost a fortune I would like to hear about it. We live in the Keller/N. Fort Worth area so it would have to be somewhat nearby. I have already checked into Lets Jump, Boomerangs, ASI Gymnastics and ChuckeCheese.

Any Help or advice is greatly appreciated. Oh and I want to schedule the party around the 10th of November.

Thanks,
C.

What can I do next?

I love weekday parties, though I almost always miss them b.c I forget about them. If I get a reminder email/call the night before, I'm usually good to go

Yes, I would let my son go to an evening party on a school night as long as it wasn't far away. I wouldn't want to be leaving a party at 7:30 and having to drive for half an hour. However, there are lots of conflicts on week nights with sports games and practices / school programs and such. I'm hard pressed to find an evening free. Of course, that's a conflict on Saturdays too. Plus, to be over early enough, you'd have to start at like 5 or 5:30 and that would cause a lot of conflicts with parents who work I would think.

We did a party for my son's 7th birthday at the Denton Natatorium indoor swim place. For the party, I paid $110 total and that included unlimited swimming that day for all guests (I set a time around the time we had the party room, but they were free to swim before and after if they wanted), 45 minutes in a party room where they provided all our paper goods and drinks (capri sun and bottled water), and a party host. I did add 10 pizzas from Little Ceasers which was only $60, tip included, and then party favors. I was impressed with how much we got for so little. And we had about 25 guests there.

I love weekday partys. My favorites are the ones during the day but an early evening would be fun also. Some weekends it feels like all we do is go to birthday parties & that gets old. Have fun with his party!

My son actually turns 5 tomorrow and we are doing a party at school with do-it-yourself frosting and sprinkles for cupcakes. We are also having the TCU mascot coming for an appearance but if you are not from here that would be a flop. I am doing everything for $60.00

I recently went to a party at Texas Tumblers (near Watauga Blvd and 377) and they have a cool foam pit, climbing structures, and bounce slides and I think they are cheaper... it was a little different then the typical jump party. Good Luck!
