I stopped nursing my 12 month old son about 3 days ago. He doesn't seem to miss it at all. My problem is, that I still have so much milk supply and my breasts are hurting. Do I still need to pump? How do I stop milk production?
Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I pumped just enough to take the presser off where I wasn't hurting, and thats all , and then in a few days my milk stopped coming. Hope this works for you too.

I pumped exclusively, and I basically whittled down the number of pumps and the length of pumps (it probably took me a month). You do NOT want to get mastitis - so you need to at least pump some of it out of there. If you save some of the milk, you can check in to a milk bank and donate your milk, or, just feed it to your youngster in a cup.

I found these freezer things at Target that are round with a hole in the middle. You freeze them then put them in your bra. They helped a lot. I didn't go cold turkey though, I weaned my daughter off bit by bit over about 2 weeks until my flow was just about gone.

I've heard that cabbage leaves work as well. Wearing tight sports bras help too.
