My husband came to me the other night and told me that he was ready for another child. This would make #4. I am enjoying being baby free but i said give me some time to think about it. I deffinetly want more kids. My first 2 kids I had naturally and my last son was born 2 years ago by c-section because he was breech. I don't want to have another c-section that was horrible. I am interested in natural birthing methods like water births. Has anyone had a vbac or know of a person (midwife) who does this for a living that works in the oakland/macomb area?

What can I do next?

Don't know if you are still looking but I have an awesome OB/GYN and midwife practice that I go to.

They are at M-59 and Dequindre near Troy Beaumont.
They are called Oakland-Macomb Obstectics and Gynacology. I know that atleast one of the doc's is a christian. They even did a team missions trip to Africa last year!!!!

My first child was born c-section because he was breech - he was also 10 lbs 7 oz!

My second child was born by successful v-bac!

I wanted to go with midwives with the first baby but by the end realized I needed a c-sec. They said I could try for a v-bac since the reason for the c-sec was a breech baby. It wasn't like my pelvis was too small or the baby or I was in distress - so you may also be a candidate for a v-bac!

The midwives were awesome!

If you want more info let me know.
Blessings!

I am looking into the same thing. I just saw Christine at nineshortmonths and really liked her. They do home births.

Metro Partners in Novi has midwives and they do VBACS! I just went for my first visit and was impressed with Mary. The midwives deliver out of Southfield Providence. I have a few friends who recommended them and the doula's I have interviewed highly recommend them.

Good Luck!

The best lay midwives are Bridget Ciupka and Linda Honey --- they will come to you. but you will need to go their a couple of times beforehand, they are in Taylor. So worth every minute spent in the car and the $$$! Bridget was there for me! Bridget's #'s are
###-###-#### and ###-###-####. http://www.thebirthplace.com/1/birthplace/midwives.asp when you call - please tell them M. T from Rochester Hills referred you. Good luck to you!!

I have four children. My first born was vaginal without difficulty. My second child was almost vaginal but while she was crowning her cord prolapsed and I had an emergency c-section. My third child was breech and I had another c-section. My four child was vaginal without difficulty. My doctor was insistent that I have a vbac. He stated that my risk of rupture (which was my fear) was still extremely low and vbac was the way to go. It ended up being the right choice. I had also had a surgery on my uterus to repair internal bleeding right after baby number three. So I had my uterus cut open three times! And I had baby number four 20-months after baby number three. So even though you were worry no matter what, things will be okay. Good luck.
