My step dad owns his own water filtration system company. Its called Exquisite air and water Services. His business is based in NC and his name is Stuart French. I can give you his number, it's ###-###-####. He can help with any questions you may have.

we like our Brita pitchers.
But I am tempted to try the "zero" filter pitcher. The commercial had me tempted when they put red-dyed water into the filter and it came thru as clear water. Not sure if it really works that well or not, but I am tempted.

We have a culligan sediment filter for our well and have been very happy with it, but it really depends on your needs.

If you're looking to use a lot of water i suggest a reverse osmosis which filters your water from a spigot with the system under your sink or in the basement. Woodridge is known for bad water so you might even want to do a house filter to filter the really bad stuff out first (so your appliances and plumbing doesn't take a beating) and then use the osmosis just for the drinking water. We lived in a house and used this set up and our filters came out looking like mud every month, so we were sure we were doing a good thing!

If it's merely for drinking I suggest the Zero filter. I was shocked at how well it works. If you do go with the Zero some people get a bad smell from the water about the time the filter needs to be changed. We monitor how often we fill it and therefore are more prepared for that smell when it's about to happen. You do need to get a dispenser which can add to the initial cost of the Zero system.

It depends on why you are looking for a filtration system. My husband use to install them and has always been a bit of a freak about water. We used the reverse osmosis, but it filters out even the good stuff and have to change the filters. At one time we were using a Brita pitcher and PUR filter on the faucet, which was just ridiculous. Now we have a whole house water filter, which originally I thought was ridiculous but now love it and requires no maintenance. And then we have a water ionizer at the kitchen sink. Feel free to PM me, I know a little about the water filtration only because I have been around my husband and his particular water habits, or I can ask my husband if you have specific questions, like I said, he used to install them, (not anymore, so he won't be pushing you to buy something).

Close, Jo! Osmosis.

Is there a specific thing you want to filter or is it a matter of the taste?
