E.,
I am also a stay at home mom, I used to be a preschool teacher for 6 years. During that time I received my CDA (child developments associates degree) My 40hours (DCF courses) and first aid and CPR, just to name a few credentials. I too am looking to supplement income so I may keep my newest addition out of child care. I started selling Mary Kay and that has helped and has also given me an opportunity to get out with the girls. If you are interrested in that let me know. On the other hand as for in home daycare, It would help for you to get your DCF classes as well. If you do not want to, that is fine, but you can not watch more than 4 children (this is including your baby) as long as you have an infant. More than five children alone is considered in home day care and you would need to get an in home daycare Director's license to keep it legal. I do not know what your experience is with children but it would help to take the DCF 40 hours courses. Where do you live? I could give you more info. I am also considering doing the same as far as taking in a couple extra children. After working in daycare I know what children need and what parents want for their children. I also know how challenging it can be. If you would like to discuss this more let me know. Good Luck!!! N.
