I am at 28 weeks right now. I have been planning a natural childbirth at Nativiti in the woodlands the entire time. I am completely heartbroken right now. At 20 weeks I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa and was told I had a 90% chance of it moving. Tuesday was my 28 week ultrasound to check it. and it hasnt even budged. my midwife said they'll check again at 32 weeks but the odds of it moving are very slim and I should start looking for doctors for the c-section.
We live in west houston / galleria area and the dr Nativiti reccomends is in Conroe. If anyone has anyone that they would recomend I would greatly appreciate it. I would really like it to be a woman and someone who is supportive of natural childbirth as I would like to have a vbac on my next child and I want to make sure this dr does the best job they can on the csection surgery. many people have recommended dr Damla Dryden already. I called her office today and explained my situation and they said that she isnt taking any new clients unless they're due after Feb. Any Dr recomendations would be great, and if there is anyone else this has happened to please let me know. Thank you so much and many blessings

You can check with my dr. Kelly Mccullaugh, her number is ###-###-####. She is in Katy. Now she I don't know how she feels about home birth, she is sort of a medical interventionist type. But she is a great dr and bc you said you want someone who will do a very good job on the c-section, I think she would be great. She is extremely careful and thorough about everything she does so I really think she would take great care of you and because you actually need a c-section you won't have to worry about trying to do things in a natural way. She is also very low key in her manner. She will tell you what is going on and make plans with you but she brings no melo drama to the table, that is something I like about her a lot. So anyway, you can check with her. I don't know if she is accepting patients or not bc she does try to keep her number of deliveries on the low side so she can devote plenty of time to her patients. Good luck, and sorry, but congrats on your little one!!

I would recommend my doctor very highly and she is in the Medical Center. Her practice is all women and they even have a midwife on staff.

Dr. Jonna C. Miller
Houston Women's Associates
7400 Fannin Street, Suite 1050
Houston, TX 77054
###-###-####

I have referred a few people to her and everyone loves Dr. Miller. A couple of the other doctors on staff checked on me during my first pregnancy when I was in the hospital and a different doctor did my first C-section. They were all wonderful and I would recommend this practice highly.

I was in the same boat and my placenta moved but then my daughter was breach so I ended up with a C-Section. My doctor is fabulous - Joann Samora-Mata. She's at Houston Women's Care, same practice as Dr. Miller below, and her number is ###-###-####. She delivers at Women's. My scar is hardly visible and healed really well. Remember as long as you have a safe delivery and a healthy baby that's all that matters. Good luck to you.

I believe there are other Drs in Dr. Dryden's office who are just as good and supportive of VBACs. I have a friend who wanted to see Dryden, but ended up with another Dr in the practice, and she was able to try for a VBAC. Unfortunately, she truly is not able to deliver naturally, so it did end in another C-section, but the Dr was very willing to let her keep laboring until she decided that she was ready for the C-section.
