Well I just started in July getting my ducks in a row, but I am in the same position. I am a SAHM to 2 baby girls and needed to supplement income. What I did was get my tax resale license ( very easy to get-- I got it in 1 minute online, I have to find the website for you). Once I had that, I was able to buy wholesale anywhere I wanted to by supplying the vendor with that number. Many places offer DROP SHIP, which means that you get clients, you can get them online by posting on craigslist (free) or ebay ( minimal amount) or other places, or by getting a website for very little amounts each month, and when they order your product, you place the order on your vendor's site and they mail them directly to your client... the vendor even lists your company's name on the packing slips if you want! This all means that you are able to operate with hardly any overhead and no inventory. I myself keep some inventory of the handbags I sell just in case they go on backorder and because I am now going to do 6 craft fairs in the coming months. Just do a search online for dropship and wholesale vendors.... hope this helps
