I am looking for a work from home job that pays well. Any ideas would be great. My backround is in accounting - over 8 years exp. I have 2 toddlers ages 3 & 4 and want to be able to work less (currenlty over 40 hours weekly). I am the first mom to drop off at daycare and the last mom to pick up - which makes me feel like a bad mom. I hurry to make a meal after work that is as nutritional as possible but sometimes(most days) we end up eating the same old quick fixes. ANY Advice or leads are appreciated. Thanks

What can I do next?

Hey A.,

I switched from owning a consulting firm and 12 years on the road to my stay at home business as a Shaklee business leader. Our website is: http://www.shaklee.net/upnorth .

All the best - I was 10 years in accounting before becoming an entrepreneur - worked up to 70 hrs without overtime. Miserable!

You would realistically want to start your business and build it before you take the plunge. I'm a little unusual - I was in it for 3 months and fell in love with the lifestyle and the company. My husband and I are working together from home now. We were on Oprah 4 times this year and Good Morning America. Hi A.,
I understand how you feel. I remember when my girls were that young and I had to take them to daycare. I was a computer programmer and I often had to take support calls at night. Then I found this company that allows me to be home with the kids (I homeschool them) and still contribute to the family income. I don't know if this is right for you, but you can check it out at www.LifesDifferentHere.com

If you are looking at having a flexible schedule AND working from home, the direct sales industry is chock full of excellent companies where you can earn money from home. I have my own home business in the Children's Entertainment industry, basically running birthday party/daycare/school stuff-n-fluff workshops. The company is Noah's Ark Animal Workshops and is something your kids could even "help" you with, in some ways ;)

Basically you run your own business, and advertise however you can. You book events at schools, daycares, churches, youth groups (like girl scouts, etc), and birthday parties. You bring all the items you need for these events and run a stuff-n-fluff workshop where the kids stuff their own animals (ala Build-a-Bear, but where the kids do it themselves).

This is the funnest job I have ever had, plus I am in control of how much I work! Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialNoahsArkSite) to learn more about Noah's Ark Animal Workshop.

If you have any questions about this company, and/or any other opportunities you may be interested in (I know alot of Direct Sales WAHM's) please don't hesitate to contact me.

Good luck finding the perfect job to fit your needs!

If you have an accounting background, why not start your own home business in your field? You'll probably make lots more money than if you did one of these "work from home" jobs. Lots of professionals remain in their fields and work from home. A good way to start is to keep your job for a while longer and try to pick up side projects. Once you have a few of those, you can quit and work for yourself. Additionally, you can control the size of your business, and possibly allow it to grow when your kids are older. My husband and I are both self employed and wouldn't have it any other way. Best of luck!
