Is there anything worse than spending your day waiting for the repair guy? Seriously, I hate the between 9:30 and 11:00 oclock business. Does anyone else feel a little anxious when waiting for them? It's like I am afraid to start anything cause they will interrupt it. I guess because I have to put the dogs away, make sure my daughter hasn't stripped herself, make sure I am wearing a bra....lol Anyway, what do you do to pass the time before the repair guy gets there?

What can I do next?

Long ago, when we lived in Iowa, a repair guy was coming for our washer. I was told he would be there in the morning....

I waited, and waited.... really needed to run some errands.... kept waiting, afternoon came, and he still hadn't come...

I called the main dispatcher, she contacted the guy, and found he decided to "change his route"...... he came VERY late in the day... maybe 5 pm? We originally had been maybe 2nd on the list. Sheesh! (He was being sent from one of the big retailers... local people hadn't been able to fix it.) Never again did we use that service!

There's always stuff I can do while wating - clean out a closet, organize the cabinet with all the plastic containers and lids, clean out the kitchen drawers, go through the kids clothing to see what they've grown out of and can be stored for the younger sibling or given away.... With all the running around I do between work, kids, and family I welcome the days when I am forced to be home. Heck my dining room is now filled with laundry to be folded!!!!

The next worst thing is to have a crew of construction workers RIGHT outside your door, like I've had yesterday and today. It a beautiful morning, and I can't sit on my patio, or even open my screen door all the way because they are 3 feet away!

I live in a condo building and they are replacing a concreate stairway to the garden level that is right below me. So, the jackhammers and saws and who knows what all are RIGHT outside my livingroom window! Blah!

But I'm NOT putting on a bra for anyone!!

I do all the things I should have done and have pushed them aside. Laundry, ironing, tidying mail, clean the fridge, clean out drawers, email, then internet surfing. I too make sure I'm out of my PJ's before they come and gone to the loo (potty?). You can guarantee if I'm ready for them at the earliest time - they come on the dot at the later time! If I am running late with things, you can be sure they are there 5 minutes early!!
