An acquaintance of mine offered to bring a meal over for our family due to a difficult circumstance. She says she was planning to bring us Wahoos. Its so kind of her and I'm sure we can find things to oder from there, but my husband has expressed his dislike of their food, namely, they add teriyaki to just about everything. So if you kind ladies can help me navigate the menu so I don't have to tell her to pick another restaurant. I don't care for their teriyaki either. Can anyone tell me what to order that does not come with teriyaki or is as simple as asking them to hold the terriaki? I'd love to graciously accept her offer and restaurant choice. Thank you.

What can I do next?

I like the food too and I don't think they use teriyaki sauce at all - he might be confusing it with another place. They are cali/mex so mostly spicy sauce (think blackened chicken, blackened fish) which you can always get as grilled. Normally the dishes come with rice, black beans and salsa (chunky) but if nothing else they serve chicken nuggets and french fires - lol - no weird sauce on that! :-)

I love Wahoos!
If you choose a filling that is grilled or cajun it won't have the sauce on it.
But, you could always specify, to be on the safe side, no sauce on the meat. Or ask for their green sauce
You could also go for enchilladas or salad.
I actually usually get the blackened mushroom enchilladas with green sauce.
Here is a link to their menu - http://wahoos.com/menu.php

Well, damn, I'm making fish tacos for dinner tonight. I don't use any teriyaki, but I DO use a LOT of chipotle, fantastic, do they have anything like that?

:)

I was going to give you their link but see that someone already gave it to you. What I would suggest is looking at their menu and then calling them so see if they add the teriyaki sauce to that item. You could even place your order on the phone, and then your friend doesn't have to worry about making sure she gets the order right.

I'm sorry you are going through a difficult circumstance. Hope things are getting better soon.

HATE sauces, esp. teriyaki. I get their 2 cheese or wahoo/ono enchiladas with red sauce, white rice and black beans. My husband gets a burrito, carne asada, I think. You can order anything you want there and just tell them no teriyaki sauce. I LOVE their red enchilada sauce.....it's different than most enchilada sauces. Just find what you want and change it up.
