VS3 Instead of Cable. Has Anyone Used the System?

Has anyone used the VS3 system to replace cable. I live in New Hampshire and we have one local TV station and others may possibly come in from the Boston area, which is over an hours drive. When we moved in our condo and our cable lines were connected to the wrong unit, we could hardly bring in the one local station in Manchester, which is where we live.

Our goal is to cancel cable. From what I have seen with this VS3 system, once you purchase the system, there are no fees like there would be for Hulu, Netflix etc.

I prefer to see TV as it is happening, but would love other suggestions as well.

Thanks in advance.

So What Happened?

"B" you really made me smile. In Manchester where we are even with an old set of 'rabbit ears' the one station here does not come through without the fuzzy lines. :) Thanks for the suggestion however. Presently I have been watching the good ole shows like Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Wyatt Earp, Tales of Wells Fargo. Dating myself, probably so!! :)

B.D. & Mynewnickname, thank you. I had checked the BBB site and couldn't find any information on them, not even an address or phone number. I will check the link and other suggested options.

Jill K. my profile shows I work for myself. Please open your mind to the point that not everyone who works for themselves or works from home is part of an MLM company. I wanted to truly know if anyone had any idea regarding the VS3 system as I had seen it on a 'Mom' site. Not everything is a sales scheme and perhaps you have been burned by one or more companies. If so, I am sorry you went through that; happens to a lot of people who don't do the proper research, because there are legitimate companies to work with.

For all the years I have been part of this group, when it was called, 'Mamasource'. There was a time when people who had businesses could advertise; but it is no longer practiced. I ask a question and you profile, shame on you. I have always, when responding to a question, try to have ethics and integrity without trying to malign the writer. When admin feels it is not proper, they have the option to delete the post. Yes, I am trying to drum up interest for my family to save money. Even though I have a business, I am still frugal. Did you know Warren Buffet still lives in a home he paid $31,500 for years ago in Omaha, Nebraska?

Btw, I did google M. P. Wish I could own those yachts. :)

Thanks everyone for your response and for all future responses.

READERS - I suspect that this is not a legit question but a post to drum up interest in a sales scheme. M. P has filled out her profile with the typical MLM/Online Selling stuff, including a link to a terribly obvious website that at best, data mines. Googling shows M. P tied to more than one 'work at home' website.

I'd never heard of VS3 so I went to look for it. VStream 3 seems to be a streaming device similar to Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, etc.

Except VS3 is a product in a type of pyramid scheme. The website is almost entirely about selling and memberships, very little about watching tv/movies. Long story short, you're supposed to sell these to other people for over $350 a pop and make a commission on them. The founder is a known MLM scheme guy.

There is little to no information about the product itself. The VS3 website focuses on getting people to sell them. You can't even buy one from the site without a referral number. They don't disclose anything about licensing and may be operating illegally. You can look up more info at a website called BehindMLM DOT com.

I am not familiar with a VS3 but I assume it functions the same as a Roku. if so it will not stream your local broadcast stations. Have you tried a digital converter box to pull the broadcast channels? You may need to boost it with an indoor digital antenna.

I would also assume that you would need to subscribe and pay for Netflix or Hulu. I can't imagine content like that being included. If you want real time cable channels than Sling TV might be of interest to you.

I'm interested to hear more about it... we have never had cable. We have always had our broadcast channels and now supplement with Netflix and Hulu. Everyone seems to be satisfied.

Although I know many people here in our broadcast market that can not cut the cable cord because we have a special sports station here that broadcasts our hockey and baseball games. Of course you can only get that premium channel through cable or FIOS. Our baseball is blacked out with MLB TV so even if you subscribe you can only watch the game so long after the original broadcast ends, by that time you've already seen the highlights on news.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

The reviews I've seen question the legitimacy of this company - it is hard to imagine that a company can legally license every TV show and movie out there by charging a 1-time $350 fee. (see this link: http://www.highya.com/vstream-tv-reviews)

If you want to go with a more reputable company, here is a good review of the other non-cable options from CNET: https://www.cnet.com/news/chromecast-vs-apple-tv-vs-roku-...

I hope you can find something that works for you.

Cable doesn't come down our street.
It's perfectly fine to do without cable and simply watch less tv.
We get a few stations through antenna but not many - and you get use to it.
Our favorite shows we watch on dvd - and you get use to no commercials too.
I never heard of the system you're asking about.
