I am a 1st time Mom and am beginning the research process of finding a 2 yr old program to enroll my son in. I have noticed that some say they are VPK qualified (voluntary pre-K) I am not sure exactly what this is and if it even applies to the 2 yr programs or strictly for preschoolers. Could someone please help guide me in the right direction here and I would also love to hear any comments on programs in the Palm Harbor/Tarpon/Trinity area that you know of. Thank you!

Hi L.
I have my daughter enrolled at Genesis School in Trinity and I love it. She is 2 1/2 and has learned so much. She knows her alphabet, numbers, name, birthday, address, colors and much much more. They have 2 yo classes there. I would highly recommend them. They have two locations in teh area one in NPR on River Rd and one in Trinity off of Mitchell Blvd.

Hi L.,

Unfortunately, VPK is only for preschoolers. I know this because my oldest is in the program and will be attending Kindergarten in August. I also have 2 year old twins that are home with me. I just can't afford to go to work and pay for daycare. I now work from home. It's rough, but I do it.

Hey L.,

The VPK is for kids that are 4 yrs old. I think they have to be 4 by sept of the yr they are going. It is offered to all kids in FL and is free. My daughter is in it and it's great.
